Skoda Octavia VRS. 0-60 about 7secs and good mpg. You can paint your own go fast stripes and buy furry dice to match. The vRS is a good car (I've got a revo mapped 1.8 tsi 4x4) but, it's not a high end motor which is what Tomsk is looking at. ...Ok, well maybe he could add a furry steering wheel cover too then. Anyway, Skoda's are high end now. You don't have to push them anymore.

Ours had been utterly brilliant - and as a bonus, no badges on the boot catches out the TDi rep brigade The new stuff has gotten very good, but, the price tag has gone up too! A 230 vRS is a very nice car, as is the 280 Superb, they ought to be with 30k+ price tags when well specd!

We've got an E220 Avanteguard estate that we've had 3 years and love it. Very practical, no rust and pretty reliable. It's a 2004 model with 120000 on the clock (104000 when we bought it) and the only problems have been the auxiliary battery (£65 off eBay), the alternator and the alarm siren (now removed). The last problem, if it goes, causes fuse 8 in the tailgate to blow which buggers the central locking and radio reception, but you just remove it and replace the fuse and all is good. Parts aren't too bad and 50+ mpg on a run.

It's not all about writing skills or intelligence, it's about recognising your weaknesses and playing to your strengths.
