Your eloquent epitaph to the Unstable Bar left nothing more to be said, Phil............
But then, again, many of us are finding it difficult to concentrate on your posts with that busy avatar!
p.s. how's the painting going? If you've finished I could do with a hand (you'll be relieved to know it's not blue!)

CWDF certainly seems to be hell bent on self destruction. So called 'Moderation' has now become so constricting and oppressive that serious debate is now virtually impossible. I've recently collected yet more warning points, on record as 'abusive behaviour' for, in the opinion of one of the new moderators, being 'sarcastic' and 'patronizing'. I'm about to post quite a bit more C&RT related stuff soon, and am fully expecting another ban to result from it. I don't know why. Nobody batted an eyelid when you mentioned thunderboat.net on the 12th May. www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=84646&page=2I can only think that they must have missed it, . . . I've just had a look and it's still there. Perhaps the CWDF Strangulators are too busy nit-picking elsewhere, including amongst themselves and their own posts.

even PaulC has quit now, if they don't replace him dan won't be able to maintain it on his own. The problem is, Dan wants the glory of owning the forum, but wants others to pay for it, and run it day to day. He should stop strangling it, hand it over to someone else.

He won't do that because it will effect his cv,but I agree if Dan finds it such a chore as he makes out let someone else take over. After all he took it over from someone else.

Have you been surprised how well its gone on this channel with zero moderation?

Looks like the CWDF Stangulators may be following this Forum quite closely, . . . within an hour or two of it being mentioned on here 3 days ago, my 12 May reference to now being contactable via Thunderboat.net was obliterated by Lady C.

The amount of visitors we seem to get on here can be quite staggering at times,I often look at the foot of the page. Why a boater would want to visit this site and not join is just beyond me,very strange.

The strangulators definately watch this forum very closely, they seem to think they can moderate you over there for things said on this board. Complete power trip on their part. Ps tony I've put pictures of the governor on my engine in the general section.

Some of them will be the same lackys that Parry has monitoring CWDF and other waterway/canal related forums, the IWA will account for a few more, and there'll almost certainly be people from useless outfits like the RBOA, searching in vain for someone with a good word to say about them.

I had no idea Tony that this surveillance was so organised

All the social networking sites related to boating are monitored by enforcement. Debby figgy checks them every morning, and forwards anything on to the relevant department. The most popular are cwdf, narrowboat user group and canals and rivers on facebook.
