It is my impression, and I am often wrong, that when a new Female member arrives on cwdf she is often mansplained (as my wife calls it) by a few individuals. Should she be a bit flirty as well then one or two get a bit too 'protective' as well. Just my impression and maybe I am seeing something that is not there............ That happened with Miss Max. Like flies round shit, or women round a baby!

In their first post they said they'd moved to Napton after spending 4 years on the K&A. They then enquired if there would be an RCD on a marina hook up, as they don't have mains power onboard at present. Suddenly they are being told "it'll end in tears" , you need a mains charger, solar won't work in winter etc etc etc. If someone is going to make assumptions of a technical nature, surely the obvious one is that having managed for 4 years without a mains hook up, they probably know all they need to on the subject! It doesn't matter of course, but I frequently meet people who say they've had a look at forums but the way newbies are treated puts them off. It seems a shame thats all. By the way for avoidance of doubt, my batteries never entered my head Rog

I hate women, because they are always banging on about mysoginism. Ahhhh bring back the good old days when women knew their place and accepted their lot without complaint. Though I do think some use cry's of mysogany to avoid the real reasons.................

I'm mildly pleased that you acknowledge I have one It was a bit of a 'kick fest' though. But for your answering the actual question, almost all other replies were implied criticism. Rog

In their first post they said they'd moved to Napton after spending 4 years on the K&A. That bit was in a different thread. Asking if a marina bollard had an RCD suggested they might be newbies. When they said they were going to get the marina to install 240v it was merely suggested that they plan to include a marine charger AT SOME LATER TIME. Hardly telling them what to do!

In their first post they said they'd moved to Napton after spending 4 years on the K&A No they didn't. Not in that thread. The first post was asking if hubby could put a plug on 'the wire from the immersion heater' to plug it into shore power.

As I said to her (having no knowledge of this mythical 4 year history) "Tell us how you'll do it and I'll be the first to apologise". She didn't, which is her prerogative, so I had nothing to apologise for.

Go and start a thread on cwdf about it.

No moaning, we have just deigned to grace you with our presence to inform you of the interesting goings on there, that you would be unaware of from the top of this dung heap.

"When I PM'd them to offer help they were very 'off' and sarcastic."
"She was a bit like that at the beginning of the thread. Could her husband put a plug" ..... in her gob?

"I suggested that when you are "told" something, you should consider it a gift - like a gift of a Christmas jumper from your great aunt" - not like one off Delta 'cos it's got 'bobbles'.
