Another reason why I suggested that the waterways part of the forum should be shifted up towards the top of the page. Now done

Might be the time of year, but in the last week or so CWDF has fallen behind CanalPlan AC on the UK Waterways Ranking Site, and traffic is down by around 10%. www.ukwrs.co.uk/index.php?id=162
CWDF are hovering at roughly where they were prior to this site being set up. After that, they put the ranking artefact on virtually every page. They shot up to around 27,000 and took top ranking again. They have since removed the code from all but the original pages and again are returning to logging hits as before. I don't think it did them any credit to do what they did, to increase hit counting, and credit to them for reversing that to normal counting.
I'm wrong. Serves me right for not visiting CWDF more frequently. It's a case of now you see it, now you don't. I could have sworn the ranking artefact was back to its normal pages, last time I looked. It's everywhere again. If that doesn't get them to the top again soon, they really are in a pickle.

Mods have been viewing my profile, searching for anything I have said in the past that could warrant a "strike". Hahaha. Honestly, it really is pathetic.

you have to be totally po faced to be upset at that......I would also very much doubt that DeanS himself was upset (he seems to have a fairly robust sense of humour) it's just another case of the "looking to take offence set"

He did waffle on for several pages about his run-in with the Bridgewater bailiffs. He's not a bad chap though, I think his heart is in the right place. Actually, you've made me remember, I had thought of offering to lend our boat to Dean so he can see something of the canals and not just Manchester's backside. I may still do this. It's good for us to have the engine running now & then, and it'll be good for him. I think Dean travelled quite widely in his previous (narrow) boat.

ps - as you're here, Nigel informed me Sunday (2 days ago) that the Calder & Hebble is supposed to be open eastwards of Sowerby Bridge by the end of June so that we may escape. D'ya think he's trying to get rid of us??!! That's no more than the latest update from CRT. Normally at this time I'd be setting off on my 6 month summer travels - cabin fever extended this year!

Just looked. Last nosey person looking at my profile was loafer 24th March. Although, as I have said, mods can come and then delete their presence, so it looks as if no-one has visited (I caught this in action once). I occasionally take a look at the profile of those I find interesting or amusing! Both, in your case. MJG? I don't really care where he is. I find him to be a grumpy old bugger. He never responded to BOTH my attempts to invite him for a malt whisky.

I must admit I sometimes use the route of going to a profile and then to their posts list to see what someone has been saying recently.

Interesting - what's this? I just tried to sign into Canalworld only to be greeted with a message: 'Your account will automatically be unlocked in 15 minutes'. I was wondering if a bell rings when I try to log in now, so that a moderator is woken up and put on High Alert. Thought you might like this, .
