It amuses me that the Tories, by dint of repeating it ad infinitum, have persuaded the population that they are good at running the country. I see them as a destructive force personally, a kind of organised anarchy where the strong beat their way to the top at everyone elses expense. Meanwhile they've run up more debt than labour could have dreamed of, cut all services, the roads are full of potholes... but still they manage to maintain the meaningless myth that they are good for "the country". The last lot that had a good run at it finished off our industry and divided society into uncaring "haves" and loosers. I thought "Red Robbo" and his ilk had a strong part in that ........ I lived through those days and remember them well

I agree the union's were too powerful but was the answer to decimate every unionised industry? Who exactly gained from that?

We are committed to Brexit no matter who runs the government. However there are other major very major problems, a collapsing NHS, whoever gets in needs to kill the PFI loans and remove them from the NHS budget, Education is being under funded and it will get worse under the conservatives.
Funny think sitting here thinking about Corbyn he has demonstrated a level of honesty and importantly a level of courage and doggedness to do what he has said he will do. He is not a fair weather politician. I think he just might be what we need an honest person who will doggedly pursue what he has promised. Just think about it he has spent two years being battered and bullied by a lot of people and he is still sticking to what he promised his voters. Given the top job he could well blossom many in the past have.

He also spent the majority of his years as a back bencher constantly preaching and voting against the EU.
Man of principle? Not

Who exactly gained from that? over powerful unions effectively destroyed or rendered ineffective several governments (both Labour and Conservative) so no, I don't think it was a "desperate" comment

The only constant was him never supporting his party whip.
Becoming leader he asked for unity.
The man is a spineless buffoon who will destroy a once great party.

Must be living in different country to me I remember the last labour government bankrupting the country but what do I know? maybe prolific spending borrowing huge sums of money and then handing over the whole mess to the tories to sort out is normal for them! But you could be talking about any labour government in the last 50 years I suppose

Judging by the current poll - I never thought TB members were so conservative! Where are the free thinking, compassionate, awkward sods, anti-establishment, hippies etc. etc. hanging out nowadays?
