Do I think she is the best for negotiating with Europe ..... Yes Do you think she will be very good at it, or do you just think she will be better than the other candidates? I think she could well be very good at it

I don't think you need to worry about too much changing in domestic policies over the next 5 years virtually all the time available in parliament is going to be needed unpicking EU laws and regulations that is more than enough work for one parliament. Doesn't how the EU laws and regulations are unpicked directly affect domestic policies?

John,a lot of people seem to agree with you, but I can't see how you all came to that conclusion.

I am always happier with a lady leader.
The best direct boss I ever worked under was a lady.
She was always prepared to listen. She never assumed she knew best because she was boss.
She recognised expertise and wasn't afraid to 'wring' the maximum out of it.
If a decision was needed, she took it, and then stood by it.
Everyone felt they had a voice, but clearly knew who was the boss.
I hope to see these kind of skills in Mrs May.
I didn't vote out, but accept the majority view.
The 'out' now needs to progress from strength, and speedily.

John,a lot of people seem to agree with you, but I can't see how you all came to that conclusion. I can't see why you are so anti May as prime minister ....... she has only been in office for a few weeks and very little has changed in that time. She is a little too much in favour of access to private information and other law and order traits for my taste...... but I can see the reasons that she represents. Virtually all that has been proposed with her as leader was already on the cards, with whatever leader the Conservative party selected. You seem to object to her from the view that she is a conservative and not a socialist ......... A socialist government was not elected and I have seen nothing that she has proposed that would be considered to be right wing by conservative members. It is extremely unlikely you will see a socialist government as long as the Labour party continues to follow Corbyn down his road to oblivion. It is (IMHO) imperative that we obtain a good result from our negotiations with the rest of the EU, this far transcends any changes that may or not be made in domestic policies. Domestic policies are short term variables, changing with every change of leadership. If things are changed in a way you dislike now, then there is a good chance they will change again in the future, to things more to your liking. Failure to obtain a good result from the negotiations will set the long term parameters for a generation, if not longer.

Just remember Patty, what you read here, and in the news, is largely just opinion.
Other opinions are available.
Everybody believes they have right on their side.

Cleggy had an appeal that Farron lacks but Mrs May will do for me. But I wouldnt worry to much as under the UK system in five years you can get rid of her under the EU system the unelected leaders are there to stay.......................... I dread to think what this country will be like after 5 years of Mayhem. Does she get your support because you actually like her and think she is good for the job, or is she just the best of a bad bunch? She is the only leader in a long time that has the balls to get things done! I do admire her and like others my best ever boss was a lady I always knew where I stood and she was organised but allowed others to do their job, she will do for me and look at the shambles that are the rest would you want any of those running the show?

So, Peter, you like May because you once had a lady boss who was good and May is a lady too? Hmmm.
I once had a great boss who was a bloke with a beard, therefore I deduce Corbyn would be a good PM.
Not really enough is it?
May is a mouthpiece, not a dictator. She is boss because the Tories thought her an acceptable face to front their normal running down and selling off of anything and everything that makes this country good.

I don't think she has the balls at all. She will make a huge mess of the negotiations all the while trying to turn the UK into the ultra-conservative police state she has always wanted. Anyone else would be a better option.

That and nobody else wanted the job because they didn't want to be remembered as the leader that fucked up the UK beyond all recognition.

It will be interesting to look back and see what kind of leader she makes.
But first of all the Tories have to win, and I remain unconvinced that it is a foregone conclusion.

Rog I think the past few elections have illustrated what a topsy turvey world it is out there..Brexit and Trump went against opinion polls..the electorate are a fickle bunch..all we need is some juicy gossip to put a cat amongst the pigeons....
