I just cannot get over the fact that Mrs T May was opposed to eu membership for over two decades, but did a complete U-turn on the day she lost the referendum. Surely she can understand why she is almost universally considered to be a shallow, self-serving hypocrite and rightly has the nickname of Cruella? I really don't understand what you believe an MP is meant to do. An MP is in parliament to represent the wishes of the majority of voters in his constituency. The fact that it has become a profession, does not alter that fact. An MP who does not represent the people who elected him, will not be elected the next time. I would rather have someone who changes position, in line with changes in the wishes of the electorate, than a politician who has "knows best" and is at odds with the electorateI was having a gentle dig at Mr Stabby's post. His post seemed to me to be criticising Corbyn for a u-turn but ignoring May's u-turn, this seems very common to me when people discuss politics. I don't mind MPs or Party's changing their mind when they think it is best to do so as long as the overall direction of what they campaigned for is followed.

I think the point being made, is that May didn't change her mind. The result of the referendum dictates the action now to be taken.
Corbyn clearly has dithered, professed various positions at various times, and is still unclear.
Having said that, they are all politicians, so truth can be a stranger to them all.

It amuses me that the Tories, by dint of repeating it ad infinitum, have persuaded the population that they are good at running the country. I see them as a destructive force personally, a kind of organised anarchy where the strong beat their way to the top at everyone elses expense. Meanwhile they've run up more debt than labour could have dreamed of, cut all services, the roads are full of potholes... but still they manage to maintain the meaningless myth that they are good for "the country". The last lot that had a good run at it finished off our industry and divided society into uncaring "haves" and loosers. But potholes are the responsibility of local government, not Westminster!

I expect MP's to vote with their conscience. They put their views forward and we decide whether or not to elect them. After that they are not obliged to go with the wind. We also expect them to understand the issues and debate them on our behalf.

The will of the people is fickle and may have changed since the referendum. I will vote tactically. That means, for any party that opposes Brexit. May is a ghastly opportunist who opposed Brexit but saw an opportunity to advance her own career. As soon as we leave EU she will resign. All the Brexit protagonists have run away from the impending disaster - Farage, Boris, Cameron ..............

They are indeed but shouldn't the mp we voted in be sorting out their local councils. Aren't most councils saying they are not fixing the pot holes because of the reduced budget from central government.

Farage is still there, Boris is still there, Cameron?....was never a brexiteer, just a Tw*t

We had a referendum and the majority voted for Brexit. Get over it.

If we had another referendum, would you respect the result? There might be another referendum on whether or not to accept the terms dictated by the EU. Anyway, this is a democracy and I have the right to protest the decision.

Civil War, then? The time and opportunity is ripe for a good old-fashioned bash-up.

Civil War, then? The time and opportunity is ripe for a good old-fashioned bash-up. Yet it wouldn't be a good old fashioned bash up would it?....I dread the thought of civil unrest and being frightened to go out or even be at home. Its an excuse for the violent to run riot and cause mayhem. I just want peace n quiet to womble on with my life....

We just want to pay the bills, be able to look after our own, and have a bit of jam left over. I think the great British tradition of apathy and lack of belief in our political leaders lives on. Whatever we vote 'They' will still be in charge. Rog
