Have just found this place and have wandered over from CWDF. Will take me a while to find my way around - have not even found out how to display only unread threads or how to mark threads read so they do not appear!
Anyway I "drive" a 43ft Peter Nicholls built boat called Brahms which is moored on the Great Ouse navigations. We keep saying we will go back to the Canals (Crick in particular) but there is something compelling about the Ouse and its tributaries. Currently live on the Norfolk Broads but are going through conveyance at the moment and hope to end up in a Suffolk village not far from Diss.

Hullo from me in Darkest Scandinavia! Thunderboat has been going for just over a year now, and, if you were to start reading threads from the beginning, you would be overwhelmed! There's a lot of good stuff here. If you come across spats and a bit of swearing, and you don't like it, just move on to something you do. 'No moderation' (within reasonableness and up to the letter of The Law) means you can breathe easy here, although you may get the odd dig in the ribs from the site owner if you are especially naughty (like me). Feel free to chat about anything you like, or if you need help with something just ask (doesn't mean you'll get any, though!). I believe the main theme here is boats and boating, canals and other inland waterways (extending to the seas and oceans too!). You will not find a friendlier lot of folk.

Welcome, pull up a stool, it's your virtual round Don't be shy on here. Some of us talk utter nonsense all the time, but the good members humour us. We can't all quote Shakespeare (very impressed with your literary bent, Chagall) Rog

Welcome, welcome, welcome. I have a 42' Peter Nicholls boat, so we have an affinity already . He has a bigger one. Comes with age :-) She, the boat, is a lovely old girl. Built very late 70s/early 80s she "sailed" through a hull survey a little while ago. I love her to bits but she is getting a bit of TLC to bring her up to scratch. One of the areas where there was some damage is the shower, which has now been ripped out (or the tray and surrounds have). Shower space is tight so I thought I might build a wooden tray waterproofed and tiled a la wet room. Trouble is I can find little tech detail on the products I might need - so if anyone can point me to a thread or contribute it would be appreciated. Probably need to move that to the maintenance area? Is there a way to dual post?
