As a couple of you "liked" my post of Rhiannon Giddens singing I thought I would add a bit more.
I have always been a fan of the Chieftains and came across by accident them playing a tune called Pretty Little Girl with the Blue Dress on.together with a group called the Carolina Choclate Drops and was impressed and followed my nose ....... What a trip !!! an incredibly talented lady.
With the Chieftains and her band
Here she is with Tom Jones
and singing in Spanish
French
Gaelic
and just for fun a Johnny Cash number

Does JohnV like this one I found recently? Imagine scenes of the western coast of Scotland... the Sun setting behind the islands out there in the shimmering sea...

This morning in answer to a post by Foxy I put up a snip of Sister Rosetta Tharpe
It was a section of a Granada TV program from 1964 called the "Blues and Gospel Train" If the clip wetted your appetite then here is the whole 40 minutes which also has the like of Muddy Waters on it

And now for something totally different I was hunting for a song I remember hearing on the radio many years ago by a Lancashire group ...... I not only found it but several others that had me smiling . (I was actually looking for a Lancashire song to use for a reply to Jim Riley but by the time I remembered the name of the group it was too late) so here are two of many tracks by this group on you tube and this one for the ex teachers

This thread is resurected every now and then and this time it was triggered by mention of Dolly Parton in the corona virus thread.
As I said then, not exactly a fan but I have a great respect for her talent. The trio of which she was a member produced some fabulous vocal work.

We have a new modem/internet connection and it is shockingly fast, so I shall have my holiday videos up very soon. I'll post them here tomorrow. I think the music fits both. Judy's Albatross put to the side, I stuck with the original wot I had in mind.

so I shall have my holiday videos up very soon. I'll post them here tomorrow. FFS.....Don't YOU have YOUR own thread for posting YOUR holiday snaps on instead of pissing up other threads (yet again!🙄) that posters use to put up tunes for others to enjoy? Selfish, attention seeking twat.🙄🙄
