Lol... Yep, life is too short for that. As you guys know, I've already lost 3 freinds this year before their time, so as you say, why waste it? I can see now the type of people who bamboozle CRT into making silly decisions. It's quite worrying really and I can see how people like Jenlyn who has helped vulnerable boaters with problems, got frustrated at meetings with people like this. There a few gooduns on there though. Some have done the wise thing and left a while back. I would love you to explain your last sentence. ?? Well one left over a lockie being blamed publicly on there for an incident with a boat in a lock which apparently wasn't his fault. Others have actually been banned, usually out of frustration.

Sorry I didn't realise it was CWDF you were referring to.What do you think about this courting of public opinion and the linking to Government and their lack of housing provision ?

Sorry I didn't realise it was CWDF you were referring to.What do you think about this courting of public opinion and the linking to Government and their lack of housing provision ? I can't remember whether I put it on here or there but a start would be to utilise the huge number of buy to leave properties. Maybe put a massive levy on them unless they are used to rent out to those who need somewhere to live. Over half a million empty properties in the UK, over 20000 in London alone. As the vast majority of homeless would prefer a land home over a boat, I see no threat of a linear housing estate if the government support social 'housing' on the waterways. They might need to create a few special purpose marinas or provide a financial incentive (from benefits) to existing marinas though. For those who want to live on the cut, we are already at saturation point in London anyway so it makes that a pretty unviable option unless you are prepared to commute from outside. The commuting will probably put most of the rest off and I suspect that is one of the main reasons some in the NBTA are P'd off about the 20 mile rule. The only downside of solutions like this is that the hole could easily get filled up by the population growth in this country. Also the more attractive it is to those who are thinking of immigrating, the quicker the hole gets filled up. Countries like France have way more land per person.

I was talking more of the craziness of people loosing homes for the minor infraction of not moving far enough when there is such a homelessness issue throughout the country. It begins to look petty and vindictive with no or little legality around it

NF - It's very easy to find the truth behind motives, just look at the output.
We have more restrictions (and signs) and enforcement than ever on the waterways. We see parts of the system being left with little maintenence. We see CRT getting more top heavy by the minute. We are seeing more boaters being evicted. We have a bunch of CRT sympathisers starting to squirm at what CRT are doing and are struggling to come up with decent counter arguments. Well other than "bugger off", which could easily be CRT's motto at the moment.
What else do you want to prove things?

I recommend reading "the art of war" Mr fox. There's a reason it's endured all of this time. Also good to know about the history of the waterways, because of the boat I have I've met a lot of ex working boatmen that love sharing their stories. As bass player has pointed out, look to the results/output if you want to know the motivations of an organisation. Without sounding to dismissive of course they have a plan/ direction and aims. The alternative would be to believe that they are just bumbling along aimlessly.( a somewhat more scary thought given their responsibilities I would have thought.) Never underestimate your enemies.

Very interesting Mr fox, but I don't think Crt have plans to ship cc'ers off to camps just yet. So I don't think it's quite fair to compare them to nazis, although some of them come close.

Lists are useful as a memory aid but there will always be those who won't believe what you write down or twist it around. Sound familiar? At the end of the day it comes down to integrity. That's why some people put so much effort into picking holes so they can discredit you. If someone doesn't believe what you say, it's up to them to proove you're wrong. Innocent, until proven guilty. Apparently that's supposed to be the way in this country, except for you know who...

I've just read through the thread on the tufty club. I have never seen such a load of rubbish in all my life. The likes of flincher, Graham rabies, Mike the prick etc should carry poo bags with them everywhere, all that crap needs to be bagged and binned safely. Richard, Ray and wanderer should be wearing pampers, or at least have adult supervision when using the internet. Pathetic. I notice Tuscan still can't make up his mind whose ass he needs to be licking.

I don't know why but your post combined with Kris's remarks about the Art of War reminded me of an early Genesis track 'Battle of Epping Forest'. I know it's not dub step but it's a really funny track. I'm sure MtB has heard it...

I have suddenly realised how much simpler life is in reality, compared to the problems the tufty club members seem to impose upon themselves. I am thankful that their particular brand of crap is only visible on the internet. I'm sure none of them have the balls to voice such rubbish whilst out and about, beyond their keyboards. None of them attended the protest they complain about to voice their concerns face to face. Perhaps the thought of having to carry spare nappy's and tissues with them if they attended, and find adult supervision was a step too far.

Maybe that's why some feel a need to mess it up and complicate it.

I think it's definately better to spend more time in the real world than on line. I'm not so shure about calling it the tufty club, at least the tufty club had a purpose( road safety if I remember rightly) cwdf doesn't seem to fulfil any useful purpose.
