Yes - great to have you back, and your husband must be very relieved. It must have been very scary for him too. It was Bill. One of the first things I remember was sometime during my 3rd week asking Dave if he was sick. He looked so bad, major bags under his eyes, rounded shoulders, he looked like he hadn't had a full nights sleep in a week; I'd hazzard a guess and say he's lost well over a stone, short tempered and sharp when speaking with the nurses & doctors. It actually hit him harder than it did me. He was aware of how poorly I actually was, I on the other hand didn't have a clue until I was well on the road to recovery. His temperment with the hospital staff was out of frustration mostly, the doctors were insistent that the underlying problem was to do with my lungs, either sleep apnia (sp) or COPD and were running test after test. They really didn't seem all that interested in Dave's suspisions that all of the problems were to do with my Hypothyroidism not being medicated properly for such a long time. As it turns out Dave's suspisions were correct. The only thing he missed was the enlarged heart!! He's back to normal now, and has regained his taste for beer & cider

People often don't realise just how hideous and draining an experience it is, when your partner is seriously ill. The toll it can take on their health can be major So I think he deserves a gold star !!!

Here is a sincere welcome back to thunderboat to an almost as good as new healthy Betty, after having had such a scary time in hospital I think that you realise now that there's no better place in the world than being back on your own boat.
Pills are terrible things, I've always hated them (and still do), but without them I wouldn't be able to write these few lines, so do as I do, take the pills you need, and go on enjoying all the better things in life as much as you can.
All the very best,
Peter.

Hey Patty, glad to hear from you; sounds like you've had a wonderful time.
I tell you what, after spending 8 weeks in the hospital I certainly have some strong opinions now on how things are run and how the money is spent
