As I see it the problem with the turmoil going on in politics at the moment, is that nobody in parliment is going to give a fuck about what CRT are getting up to. So the lack of oversight looks like it will continue.

So the lack of oversight looks like it will continue. I think you are correct, it will be a very low priority anyway I would have thought what with Brexit negotiations looming and the current 'security' issues. But the waterways will assume even less priority now as so much time will be wasted on (even more) political infighting and squabbling.

Copied from elsewhere 😂
Ok so let me get this right......'The Conservatives won...but lost ...Labour lost ....but won....the SNP won and lost in Scotland, but still won and the Conservatives won in Scotland, but lost.. .the government was Tory, but now can't be even though it is still and they need to make some Northern Irish chaps Tory, so they can be in charge, even though they were and still are...UKIP lost, but because of brexit they already won ...Independents won, but didn't win because they don't have a party, so they lost but are now MPs so they won ...the winner ( May ) is being told to resign because she didn't win and she won't because she won.' And to top it off, Sturgeon choked on her porridge, Parliament is hung, yet they are all still alive and breathing ....... All seems perfectly straight forward to me....

Thank you for that lucid explanation.... I studied British Constitutional History at O level...passed the exam not understanding any of it.... with above statement true, its not surprising politics will remain a mystery

How Mrs May must be dreaming of that 12 seat majority she cast away without a moments hesitation.
The conceit of her actions astounds me.
At least Sam Allardyce was forced out by the press rather than at his own hands.

No change in Cromer yet, people are still fishing for crabs from the pier.

But what will happen is the individuals concerned will be more interested in looking strong and tough in advance their next elections, which will smattered along the negotiations, than in common sense. They are politicians.

What makes a good diplomat and negotiator?
Someone who's naturally tricky.
Someone who at the same time puts on a facade of being lrss intelligent than the "opposition".
Someone who will cut to the chase without obvious embarrassment.
Boris for PM? Whoops!

But what will happen is the individuals concerned will be more interested in looking strong and tough in advance their next elections, which will smattered along the negotiations, than in common sense. They are politicians. Well I suppose the one thing the DUP have in common with the Tories is that they have no interest in serving the interests of the 60 odd million people in the UK. 100 years ago we would have had a revolution by now. That was the natural way to deal with it. Now we are so brainwashed that we can't even see 'they' are blatantly taking the piss out of us. Sadly this method of control has also fed down to how some businesses treat people. It's been so successful for the elite to use politics as a smoke screen to divert our attention. In the end though, once everything completely breaks down , those in control will no longer be able to rely on money as means of control. It's at a very fine balance now. So as to the usual threat 'they' use, which is to leave the UK, I say good luck and bye bye. I'm sure those who actually do all the hard work here will continue to do so...and I do include some elite and entrepreneurs in that...

It could get very very nasty. Lots of infighting and general unpleasantness doesn't really serve anyone well and there is an extremely distasteful outcome which seems to me to be possible. Mr Johnson could actually end up as prime minister at some point. This would be simply awful and must surely be avoided at all costs even if it means getting into bed with terrorists and/or assassins.
