DUP's Sir Jeffrey Donaldson plays down reports of £2bn request to Tories. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-40360060Could we see a situation where the Tories bribe the DUP with tax payers money just so they can have a majority in parliament. If so, how is that democracy?

Its democracy because they still have the majority of seats.
When they fail, the tosser corbyn will get a chance to bribe other parties for votes to try and get a majority.
What isnt democratic is losers moaning that they won when they didnt win but wanted to win and wont accept the result....now where has that happend before recently....oh yes, the brexit vote.

They don't have the majority. That's the whole point. They need the DUP votes to get the majority. What makes you believe Corbyn would bribe other parties if he'd get in (not that I'm suggesting he wouldn't). What's this got to do with Brexit? How could that be reversed by bribing MP's ?

No, just wondering why he's mixing it up with Brexit (which I was all for BTW). Interesting that you didn't pick up on my first two points though seeing as you 'liked' his post.

As long as all of NI is treated the same I am not really bothered, they are part of the UK its a lovely place, for the most the people are great. The DUP have said that they would never vote with labour so Corbyn has no chance of forming a working government, plus in 2019 the review happens 50 MPs lose their jobs [majority Labour now] so she will have her working majority then. The clock is ticking on Brexit and people might take a dim view of time lost messing around with another GE,leadership battle, choose your reason. So for me the quicker its all sorted the better as in way under 2 years we will have left the EU and the best deal is needed.

This is despite what those in high places get up to...and politicians...

OK I didnt say they had a majority, i said they had the majority of seats, i suppose i shouldve said they had the most seats. Thats a win by any stretch of the imagination. Corbyn has to bribe other parties if he wanted to try and form a gov which is very unlikely as even with the others he still wouldnt have more than the old croan May. My correlation of Brexit was to show the current trend of some people not accepting a result because they dont like the result. Lib dems wanting to change the result as they think we didnt know what we were voting for, Labour claiming an election victory when they get less seats than the tories and less of the vote and demand May resign and let them form a gov. See the resemblence?

Surely May calling this election has done nothing but slow down the Brexit process? But anyway, as you say, best to move on now. I still think the whole political system sucks though (that's why I haven't voted for years)...at the same time I'm not sure how you could improve it. What if we got rid of party politics and just voted for nice local independent MP's who don't tow a party line? I know, silly idea.

See the resemblence? You'll always get moaners lol. I'm more interested in the truth behind things really. It feeds my naive pub philosopher brain. I've said from the outset that I'm not sure whether Corbyn has been sucked into the machine or not. I do think he could have won if he was more vocal about his views on the elite as he has done in the past. Maybe 'they' got to him..,no that's the paranoid part of the brain kicking in now.. As I said though, we need to move on, life is too short to get to bogged down with it.

May has done a better job scuppering Brexit than all the Lib Dems in christendom. I'm still predicting another election around October.

What do you/we all reckon will be the outcome if there was one?

I cant see the old crone's gov lasting much longer so Oct is my bet.....you find your own month Oct is mine i bagged it first.
Result? If Brexit is looking like being in the EU then we might see the Kippers vote upped again, and a possible return of Farage as Ukip leader, which will result in a drop in votes for both the big front runners so another hung parliament.
If brexit is looking like Brexit and the tories promise lots of shiney things for everyone like labour did this time and the youts go back under their crusty duvets then probably a tory working majority.

You have to remember that the country is actually run by faceless bureacrats, who never change, whichever party forms the government.
When parliament is in recess, the country still runs on, quite happily.
And the wealth of the country is created by the 'they' you keep referring to.
Without their input, that nice Mr Corbyn, May nor anyone else, would be able to make their bold promises of a better world.
The best we can hope for is that 'they' are good people, rather than Philip Green.
