Auto SMS messages are not so great if you don't have mobile reception and the system doesn't allow you to enter a landline number. A lot of things work well most of the time though. E.A use a recorded message and you have to respond to it, failure to respond results in further calls till you let them know you have had the message, they will call any number ie mobile or landline Phil

Will pass info on to a neighbour. Not sure how things work with river tributaries.

I'd go for e mail instead of text. At least e mail arrives silently. Meanwhile, I'll stay on muddy ditches......they don't flood Rog Um, don't read this then... publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld200304/ldselect/ldwesnor/evid/4110104.htmI'm sure I read a report that stated when BWB rattled up all the paddles on the Northampton arm to relieve the overtopping of the GU mainline it added something like 6 cubic metres a second of water to the now well flooded inhabitants of Far Cotton and Jimmy's End. I did wonder why I suddenly felt moist nethers.

Will pass info on to a neighbour. Not sure how things work with river tributaries. You can select where you get advice for. I have the river Lark which is about 2 hours upstream from the river Great Ouse. The lark responds within 24 hours to heavy rain, the Ouse on the other hand is often unaffected. I imagine you could register for more than one river. Phil
