Where to start!!! Well yesterday I fitted a new mains socket in the engine room. Going to the Hudson gathering at Glascote cost me dear as our neighbours demonstrated their new Dyson V6 vacuum thingy. Despite memories of "DustBuster" etc, I must say we were very impressed and bought one. So, with only 1 mains socket in the engine room - that would be permanently tied up with the V6 charger - I needed to fit another one. Marked back box outline, cut two sides with jigsaw, couldn't cut other two side with jigsaw due to lack of space so had to used the lots-of-slightly-overlapping-holes technique. Fitted back box, socket, 1.8m arctic cable and patched it in to the socket at the foot of the bed. Job done, reassuring blue light on V6 charger. Rewarded with a nice G&T You need a pad saw for those narrow spaces where a jigsaw don't fit. Much neater and quicker than drilling a series of holes, and doesn't cost more than a couple of G&Ts in a posh pub. www.toolstation.com/shop/p76863Yes, I have one at home. But that is no use when you're 450 miles from home!

My next job is to paint 30cm length of edge around the v-drains (these are under the deckboards on top of the engine) with red oxide. The rest of the edging has already been done with red oxide and undercoat. Have 2 cans of topcoat ready.
Touching up the paintwork with topcoat.
I want to get in the water tank to clean out any sediment from the bottom (last done July 2016).
Need to buy logs for the stove.
That's all that comes to mind right now.

There's never a mad axeman around when you need one! I find the compressed chip Heat logs to be good value, light easy, burn well, then a few lumps of coal so it doesn't go out, and throw in found dry branch stuff too. My next job is to finish off my water tank level indicator, a clear pipe riser with a tap at the top, coming up vertically from floor level. I've just found an old kettle and got the red plastic floating bead out of the level indicator. I'll need to put a bit of mesh in the bottom of the tube to stop the bead being pulled through to the pump.

Thanks for the link though, I'd tried several places locally, hydraulic engineers etc with no joy. It would have been very useful last week, but then I shifted shit from the attic and found an old kettle.

We're currently on the GOBA moorings near the end of the Lark on our way to get Ananda blacked as it's low enough here to finish welding round the exhaust outlet where it exits the hull, our jetty at our marina is too high. I'm also taking the opportunity to remove the long redundant Eberspacher exhaust skin fitting and weld a plug in the hole! This is the first trip out since the new silencer was fitted and the results are superb, the noise level is so quiet now, a much more agreeable place to spend cruising hours...👍😀

Well 'im at the back took off our large altenator and had the brushes replaced, bearing & coil checked (anyone in the Midlands looking to have this done, I've got a great recommendation who does excellent work & dirt CHEAP....cost more in taxi fares then the repair!!)and reinstalled. He's also done the oil change (not that we do it weekly like foxy, costs us upwards of £60 each time) He's topped up the batteries & cooling system His next job will be to sort out the water pump - sometimes I need to turn on the shower or bathroom sink to get water to run from the kitchen tap or filter tap! The front well needs to be sanded and repainted The front doors need to be sanded and revarnished as does the cratch board and she's well overdue a wash & shampoo....that's the outside jobs which need doing before winter, it would take up to much space to list all the in door jobs

My daughter loves making brownies (the recipe for which dogless has now 👍) Gazza this is soooooooooooo easy it isn't funny. The receipe is: 2 eggs 5 tablespoons of all purpose flour 1/2 jar Nutella + and 1 extra tablespoon I added some crushed walnuts Mix it all together until well blended Now instead of pouring the mixture into a square baking pan, I used 12 silicone cup cake / muffin thingy's I put a heaping teaspoon of the mixture in the bottom of each muffin holder, then a 1/4 teaspoon of smooth peanut butter and then topped each one with the remaining mixture (about another teaspoon in each one) added some sprinkles on top Rather than being gooey they are more cake like, but at 12 minutes they are still quite moist in the centre Enjoy!! gas mark 4 for 12 - 15 minutes I'm going to try adding Nutella to Bananna Bread tomorrow - I'll let you know how it turns out....can you tell I've just discovered Nutella? I love it!
