It does seem to avoid the hazard associated with plugging the thing in to a 230v socket.

I suddenly realised I might not know how to pronounce Ormelite.
I assumed it is Ormer light but now realise as it is named after a person's surname it might be Orme light.
Confusion is terrible so some guidance would be welcomed.

Always a good approach to have boats in water.

You coming west? Nice view from the top of the hill.

You coming west? Nice view from the top of the hill. Have not made any definite plans yet apart from going up the river Hull and then as much of the Driffield canal as you can before the culverted bridge.
I quite fancy the idea of a trip to Ripon though

Bit of unloved boat painting & varnishing today before returning to Middlewich, en-route to Llangollen, on Friday.👍 7 years since I scumbled and painted the back cabin panels. Tidied up, gone for the ‘tired & distressed’ look, hopefully last me for another 7 years before it needs rescumbling! Front cabin revarnished after 2 years neglect, came up ok with good grain features. 👍

As I mentioned in another thread, the water levels in the river Hull are much lower than I have ever seen them. Talking to the guy who owns the Old Shipyard he reckons that he has only seen it getting as low once before in his life. When I designed the anti flood mooring system and high level gangway, I allowed for both higher than the maximum flood level and lower summer levels than I had seen. Obviously not enough This is a photo of the original system at a very low water level (how low you can see from the height of the gangway above the deck sitting on it's limit support) When it's low water levels you just walk across the concrete and step aboard. afraid not too clear but I can't now go back and take another a couple of nights ago there was a loud bang and the boat rocked ...... the deck of the boat was about a foot below the edge of the quay. The scaffold clamp that held the boat to the runner on the pole had been trying to lift the side of the boat in the air ..... trying being the operative word Using key clamps (they were in a large job parcel of bits at the drydock, but they don't use them ... so I blagged some) I built a new system allowing for about a foot of extra movement
