The front doors on my boat are rotten and need replacing. A strange one this, they are protected from rain by a cratch cover, but there you go.
I say doors but all they are really are a pair of window sashes, hinged in a frame. Being an enthusiastic diy er, and possibly a tight git at times, I'd like to do the job of replacing them myself.
I've never had call to do anything like this before so unsure where to go really. Is maybe a small joinery shop a place to enquire? Anyone recommend one around Manchester or Cheshire?
Any other hints of tips?
Cheers.

So it would be good to see photos of the doors in place and photos of the rot and then it should be fairly easy to see where and how you need to cut the doors to make sure the H2O goes bye-bye.

You defo want to fit double glazed glass units in them, the bare units without the frames are not expensive, and made to any size, even portholes.

There's a nice glazier in Slaithwaite - got our cratch window glass from 'em: www.hsnglass.co.uk/

Thanks for the replies, plenty to go at!
I've ruled out pvc. Not only is it ugly but I'm only looking to replace the two openers, the frame itself is in good condition.
As regards double glazing: Directly below the doors are 2 ventilators. I'm wondering if there's any point fitting it if the cold is rushing in nearby?
