Hi Foxy. My understanding is that the late June date for opening the C&H still stands, although there have been ominous mutterings about July...... A not very reliable source told me yesterday that a boat had come through Elland unofficially just after the bridge was demolished and before barriers were put up. The Salterhebble Guillotine is in any case disabled at the moment.
I'm at Stubbing Wharf right now, and things seem back to normal just about, although there is some dredging going on. I hope to go up and look at the landslide blockage tomorrow.
Edited to say that the Stubbing pub is still closed, but is scheduled to re-open in June sometime. Meanwhile the rejuvenated Fox & Goose is now excellent - 19/20 on my pub scoring system!

Yes, we popped into the Fox & Goose a couple of times in October. Will surely be there again in 3 weeks' time. Quiz night was fun - and proves how thick I am. How about you taking some photos of the famous landslip and pasting them here? Now, have you been down Walker Lane and up Canal Road to the A6026 and then across to Washer Lane? Up that to Edwards Road to come to the Wainhouse Tavern which also seemed a friendly jolly place. They said they were going to start food soon (in April/May?). Worth checking out if you haven't been up there.

Well I went up to the landslide, but couldn't get near by boat, being stopped at Lock 12. The blockage is above Lock 15. The canal is in water up to there, with the 'Callis Community' in splendid isolation but the towpath blocked off in several places. Here's a pic - it doesn't look much, but I guess the big job is stabilising the bank above.
