What's the favourite 'rain & wet weather' attire for all you cruisie folks?
I normally make do with a basic single skin lightweight jacket and hat but used an umbrella tucked under my arm and the tiller bar with good effect when I was on the Monty a couple of months ago (Altho I did have 'a man' to operate the locks and such for me so didn't have to keep putting it up / taking it down!!
(Continuous moorers of the patch don't need to answer as they cant be arsed moving between bridges on sunny days never mind in windy & wet weather (allegedly!))

I just close the sliding roof, turn on the windscreen wiper and the heater/demister and sup my beer

True but I get the other type of summer boating .......... at anchor at the mouth of the Humber in a near gale (force 7) ....... equally delightful At least in both my boats I can stay dry

I bought a rain jacket and rain trousers from the Edinburgh Woollen Mills-related shop in Holmfirth 2 years ago. They are not waterproof, but just absorb the rain, go dark, and then I'm feeling damp and dispirited. Yes, they are Made in China. I shall have to do research and buy something better. But they're OK for a chilly day and keeping the wind out. For now, every time it rains I can think of nuking Beijing.

I have one of them full length wax coats (cheapy off the market) and a silly leather wide brimmed hat. I can keep my shorts on under that.
In truth if it's raining we tend to wait until it stops, but sometimes it rains when you're already under way.
But we're boaters, we laugh in the face of bad weather and adversity ha ha ha!

Thank you, Donkey, I had not heard of him. He sounds like a bit of a (unmentionable), doesn't he? Let's hope he catches something nasty. Draw in your own cross-hairs, haha!

There is a bit more here with some alleged links to North Korea www.theguardian.com/business/2012/feb/24/knight-comfy-cardy-rescue-peacocksI could go on about financial stuff but I'm sure that will come out later in the press...

I have come to the conclusion that a lot of these "big cat" sightings are actually black foxes.
