I have come to the conclusion that a lot of these "big cat" sightings are actually black foxes. About 7 years ago there was one spotted in our area, needless to say a couple of trophy hunters were out. Ended helping to up pulling one of them out of a ditch (once I had got him to disarm the rifle/shotgun).

That was very noble of you...not sure I would have gone anywhere near a gun tooting trophy hunter...24 hours in soggy ditch could have given him time to think and reflect, to walk another path and set aside weapons of destruction. To live and let live...ok I'll shut up now.....
