A strange one this is, I had a pint of cider on Wednesday evening at the Iron Foundry in Meadowhall, I had settled on this as everything else was off, as it turns our so was the cider so we had to wait whilst it was put back on. The drink was delivered to the table by an unhappy student [thats all they seem to employ there] and I tasted it, it tasted strange and was flat but given the amount of time I had waited I decided to drink it ! Anyway later that night I was ill not sick but very hot and making lots of trips to the toilet for pees, on thursday the next day I had to change the bed as It was sweat soaked, I was poorly all that day and that night really ill with numerous trips for very small pee to the toilet! Friday I went to the Drs I was running a temp of over 39 he suspected a bladder infection and listened to the story of the pub only commenting that sometimes 2 + 2 really does equal 4. Anyway today at 0525 after even more fruitless trips to the toilet to the toilet I woke up with a temp of 38.5 and took some more paracetamol and lots more fluids along with the first botic of the day [CO-amoxiclav 500/125] and magically slept until half nine and didnt need to change the bed clothes a first since wednesday, I also feel only half dead and have managed to use the toilet for number 2s for the first time since drinking that dodgy pint!! I am writing this as a precautionary tale if a pint tastes dodgy it more than likely is, and if young children are serving they dont know that pipe cleaner isnt good for you find another pub that employs proper bar staff instead of young attempted murderess!! Story over as the toilet is calling......................again

Send Health Inspector to that pub?
19 'Terrible' comments and 17 'Poor' comments on Tripadvisor.
For example: "Went in for a couple of drinks after work to see a mouse running around the pub, proceeded to tell the manager for them to say "we already know" absolutely disgusted!"
"Plates cleared by member of management, she asks if everything was ok, so I tell her, her response, sorry to hear that, and off she trots."
"The least impressive of any wetherspoons I have visited up and down the country. All 3 visits have been the same. Get a grip of it or you'll ruin the good reputation of wetherspoons"
βeat here at your perilβ
It looks to me from reading the comments that their microwave isn't working - a lot of the food served seems to have been cold. Teenagers who sat at the back of the classroom at school and pissed about and who never did any homework, are unlikely to know or care much about biology / safe food preparation, are they? These kids are used to a life of Pringles and McDonalds.
Yes.... when your meal arrives so quickly to your table, it does seem that it's fridge to microwave.

I am Patty, but I really do feel like death warmed up!! The last time I felt this bad I had full blown flu, my temp is now at 36.6 but that is just down to paracetamol, as I have no control of my body temp one second freezing next sweating. I am told that by tomorrow the botics will have fully kicked in so should be feeling better but not sorted by any measure

Of all the places in Sheffield, you choose Meadowhall for a drinky poo. Well, you won't do that again will ya. I really don't like that place. Does sound like bladder prob. Hope you get better soonish.

Hope you feel better real soon Peter - pipe cleaner is a nasty substance if not use properly.
As far as I know most Wetherspoons use ready made sauces, most "cooking" is done in microwaves, some have ovens & fryers. Some of the "flagship" locations have proper working kitchens with decently trained cooks (not chefs, but too a cooks standard), but still use the ready made sauces and dips
