I think the new RCD2 rules are going to make these old engines hard to fit so maybe thats why its going?

But your a little bit pessimistic about all that Peter, I'm sure it will be okay to have one of these in an old boat for quite a few years to come although your right putting them in new builds is probably not going to happen much anymore. That's good though because it means the prices will drop.

Johny cant fit one in a new boat, they dont meet the emission criteria, and looking at the regs the boat builder wont be able to fit one, or the new owner eithe,r its in last months canal boat magazine. As you say great for old boat owners, but newish boat will have to have modern engines which for you is good as the prices will drop

But didn't know it was already being introduced.

I think the fact that it is not a marine unit goes against it quite seriously in terms of value. If it was a JP2M it would be worth a lot more.

Yes it looks OK, PRM260 is a good gearbox (I've had 2 160's and a 260 which is basically the same thing all have been trouble free and ultra reliable).

Doesn't seem to be too expensive, if it's a good running engine. It would be a reassuring buy for the buyer of the Sheffield Keel of the apolloduck ad that John V posted Aug 20, 2017 at 8:22am. Peter.

The engine in Claxby (also a JP2?) is described as running. Has the boat been sold? Showing as available on the apalling duck shite.
