Just off to work.
Walked by Queens Staith yesterday, and had a drink in the Kings Arms. Quite a flow on the river and the level was rising by the looks.
Pity Sabina wasn't there.

Rog sorry I missed you Rog, I looked at the flow and thought I would stay where I was (Naburn) but if I had known you were going to be there I would have made the effort. (I thought it was rising as well but it was already at peak and was beginning to drop, mark you single handed mooring on Queens Staith with strong flow is not too easy as the bollards are set a heck of a long way back from the wall)

well it certainly ended up a good one for me as well. Had a couple more hours log splitting then because it was so nice went out in the car. Went to Cawood to buy some more of those superb pies from the Post Office. Then for a drive round the area. Some really lovely villages around here. Found myself near Knaresborough and as I had not been there before went and had a walk round. Then back to Naburn and dragged all the wood I have been splitting back to the boat. Now in a big heap .... sorting and stacking tomorrow !!! Still glorious sunshine now and I have also just found out that the fish and chip wagon will be here at 7.15 .... so the pie will have to wait until tomorrow !!! Perfek ending to a perfek day

Perfection does not exist therefore the "perfect day" is not possible to achieve in the current reality. Its a bit like religion.

I'm just going to leave this here, for the record the missus took the picture on her Samsung s6. This is what she woke up to today. I am in the process of convincing her to join here. To help her canal knowledge. She has already signed up to various pages on faceache. This is her first morning waking up on the boat. At first I thought it was a painting she had seen at the marina.

Send foxy the picture for the calendar? I've already chosen 12 pics and a thirteenth for the cover. Is it going to be a surprise about who made the cover. Or even a surprise about who's pictures are in it.

Lovely and sunny in the North Oxford. Borrowed a generator and hoovered the boat out this morning for the first time in two years.

short boat trip one day, wild walk the next, my brother is over from Spain, he's at the helm. Yesterday we did a map reading and navigation refresher on the moors around Blackstone Edge and part of the Pennine Way. Just thought I'd post a few pics of what it can look like on a good day... Gridlocked traffic on the M62 after I've had more one two many in the White House Inn on the hottest day of the year. The dog cooling down. We ended up near this place. Apart from the heat a near perfect day.

yes, Green Withens res, in shot from pennine way, that's the overflow shot in my pics. My little bro was responsible for paving that stretch of the pennine way, he was Rochdale's footpaths officer. prior to that it was a 20ft wide mudbath, though I did that bit in '83 on a moonlit nightwalk, it was frozen solid. He did his european mountain leader ticket and went to spain, http:/www.thelifeofriley.eu.com

Tell him that if he or any of his colleagues agreed to this then he should hold his head in disgrace How do I cross this... I know I'll just nip down here and up the other side whilst the boss is carrying his rucksack across... (he will think I'm so clever and loyal!) One hour later I finally found a way of getting her out!
