I'm too busy doing bits and pieces. I have been promised that Shapfell will be taken up to the Lark, Tuesday or Wednesday (I won't hold my breath though, as I have been here before) so I need to get a couple of little bits done and the rest of the stores loaded. I have as well got a date for my surgery (the end of next month) Hooray !!!!! (of course that could also be subject to cancellation as it is not life threatening) It does mean that there are a few jobs I need to do now, as I won't be able to do too much for several weeks.
I have just finished fabricating and installing a new flue system for my diesel fired central heating boiler. When I installed it last summer I utilised a disused exhaust system from a dead generator as it was solidly installed and ran up the funnel and exhausted next to the engine exhaust, I told the maker (Bubble) that it was about a 4 metre run. He reckoned that that was pushing the limits but it would probably be ok but I would need to run the blower at a higher pressure.
When I stripped it for it's service it was choked up solid with soot, it was obviously struggling. When I measured the flue length it was actually 5 metres and it had three 90 degree bends !
I guess I was really pushing it's limits !!!!! (The new flue is just over a metre and a half of 2 3/4" steel tube) The job has taken me 2 days and I am totally Kerry Packard

I sort of see your point, I wouldn't go to a truck show as a visitor (although I have done a couple as an exhibitor, for the Brands Hatch Bonfire Night show, and I would have to say they were fantastic). We're combining Crick with a long weekend on the boat cruising with some friends we haven't seen for several years. I doubt, having visited Crick once we would go again but we've never been to a boat show so it will be an experience.

Don't let me put you off but I think you have it right.Catering can be extortionate there as well.

Listen its a day out and thats how to treat it,I think once you have been you won't be back. Its simply the Trade trying to drum up business and I just can't get excited about layouts and fit outs and wouldn't dream of blowing £100,000 plus on a boat even if I had it which I don't.

I'm sure you are right. I don't intend to spend £100,000 on a boat while I'm there. I might buy an overpriced tea towel with a picture of Hawkesbury Junction on it but that will be about it.

If I do buy anything, it will be the equivalent of the 1960's "I have seen the lions of Longleat" window sticker. I imagine, in spending terms, I will be a huge disappointment to the show's organisers.
