Today an important historical theory came to me. Could Julius Caesar get it wrong, and the ancient Britons were not wearing blue war paint ? This thought suddenly struck me as I was lying under Shapfell, paint roller in hand. Could it be that he just happened to land shortly after they had been antifouling their coracles ?

They were still wearing at the second invasion so it must be good stuff wonder if they still have the recipe? The EU would ban it these days like anything that actually works. Trivia: The name Cuprinol comes from 'copper in oil' (copper napthenate) which of course the EU have now banned! It seems they're now trying to ban copper in DIY applied antifouling, which has the lumpy water brigade up in arms...

Being old and with a good covering of Regatta blue, I reckon I qualify as an Ancient Brit. Phil
