Haulier P on cwdf is a sock puppet of CDS. But at least he's indulging in his liking for arguing on the other channel.

By the way, the South African Rand. 1 British Pound bought 11 of them 5 years ago. Now it will buy..... 22! The South African currency - worth HALF of what is was 5 years ago! Their government certainly knows how to run the show, eh? Actually....... While a devalued currency may provide an opportunity to say "nanananananaa", in many cases, that's about all it does. China wishes it could devalue it's currency beyond the artificially devalued state it is already in. A devalued currency makes a country's exports more affordable on the world market, which makes for more jobs at home, assuming a country has something to export. It also increases tourism is a country is inexpensive to visit - assuming the country has tourist infrastructure. Somalia is cheap to visit, but it's not known as a tourist destination. Imagine what would happen to the cost of Chinese imports to the UK if the GBP sunk to par with the USD. Those imports would cost considerably more whilst the price of domestic products should remain unchanged, making domestically made goods look more affordable. UK exports would also cost less in other countries, which should help domestic businesses. I'm not at all interested in SA politics and I have no idea what their domestic economy is like. It may suck in all kinds of ways, IDK, but the weak Rand by itself doesn't mean a whole lot.

Everyone thinking of a holiday to Turkey or Thailand should cross them out and get their arses on a plane to South Africa. Well, okay, they have great scenery. But, when a hooker hits you up in a club, do you get to play the guessing game of if she's a boy or a girl?

In fact, I wonder if we should move to South Africa when I retire... I do like mountain scenery... and wine! It is a nice country, but you do very much have to pick your spot. I staged in Montagu, Western Cape, for a few weeks and that was fairly idyllic. Cape Town is quite attractive, but there are many places in RSA which are considered to be very unsafe.

Er.... who's interested in hookers? Not me! Real men and real women there - a bit like Texas - but of a civilised sort. I noticed the men were very courteous. The Boer influence. It's the pansy English who went there to whinge and whine that fucked it all up, with the gay Kitchener and his sadistic concentration camps. A very sordid episode in Britain's History. One reason I wince when I say I'm British. In fact, I wonder if we should move to South Africa when I retire... I do like mountain scenery... and wine! I think you might find that the Dutch and British might have arrived at the same time ish. The Dutch were known to be very brutal against the Africans, and in some ways the British treated them better, and of course in the end the British won. Apartheid was introduced by the Boers/Afrikaner government when they won the elections in 1948 and of course that is what ultimately destroyed the country!! Far better would have been a power sharing government with the black population and then integration would have seen a truly great nation. Just my thoughts

"Far better would have been a power sharing government with the black population and then integration would have seen a truly great nation." Now London has a Muslim mayor - who has suggested Muslims carry out more bombings in America. Integration is great, isn't it?! If he really has said the above he will be dead soon very soon of that I can assure you

The Brits were in long before that to steal the ivory! The coast of Africa was collanised by the Dutch but the interior was anybodies that could take it and the Brits did. I dont want to read the book as I have read numerous books on the subject, so I have many different views on it from different authors which is the problem no two read the same!!
