Hi guys n gals. I fitted this ammeter/voltmeter a few eeks ago and i am struggling to work it out, the instructions are in Chinglish so cant understand them much. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-120V-100A-Wireless-Volt-Ammeter-Power-Meter-battery-Charge-discharge-capacity/182211747540?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649I wired it up by fitting the shunt box in the NEG cable in between the battery and fuse box. The set up is wired for wireless so no USB used for better readings i believe. I have got a new charger fitted and fully charged the battery up which is a 110ah. This is what the readings are showing now before anything is turned on and shows CHG ( Charge ? ) and - Amps. Fully charged with no charger connected. And when i turn on the lights the readings go to DIS ( Discharge ? )and Amps go up into + I dont understand why the Amp`s drop into - when nothing is being used. And then Amps go up and into DIS when power is drawn off. Can anyone shed any light on how it works, well for me to understand it please. Wayne

I think negative Amps on this one indicates charge, rather than the more intuitive discharge.
i.e. Your second picture shows 3.3A going into the battery and the next one shows 0.2A going out.

Just a thought. Try turning the shunt round so the thin red wire is at the bottom and the black one at the top. I suspect the thing may expect to be in the positive line although I would never fit it that way. If you do change it round I suspect the amps readings will also reverse.

I will give it a try but that is how other folk have fitted the NEG lead, bottom from the battery and the top to the fuse box/load.

I jsut cant get my head around how to understand what Amps and Volts are left and what is being used, why is shows CHG when no charger connected and - Amps shows untill i turn on enough load/power to get it into + and DIS readings.

The display seems to be indicating power going out (little red dot by "out" in both pictures) maybe the device iself pulls 3a for a short time on initial connection? Does seem a bit weird. That dot is just to show what your are reading/settings like the battery setting/ over volt protection and lower volt protection etc etc. The dot can be left anywhere.

Not sure if this is any help. (Copied from Farcebook 12V boating group) There are also installation instructions (3 pages). I don't think a link will work as it's a closed group, but I'll try anyway. Might be OK as its a link on FB) LINK

Has it got a hall effect current sensor? Looks like a shunt. My DC clamp meters need zeroing manually before use maybe this is the same.

I need to find the File pages on the group page. Has it got a hall effect current sensor? Looks like a shunt. My DC clamp meters need zeroing manually before use maybe this is the same. All i know is that it has a built in shunt on top of the box that carrys the cable from bayyery to fuse box/load. I am going to see if i can zero it all.

The charger when it is connected as it hanst been while testing this out, is connected to the battery. Now then , i jsut calibrated it and it is now working i think. When no load is on the Amps and Volts read zero. Turn a lihgt on and it shows 0.7amps. Same with the propex, its draws 1.7amps when on fan mode and that is what it show on the display. So after all that it needed calibrating So now to work out the rest of the gubbins. Thanks IanS for the link copy,i cant find it on the group.

That's good to hear. Sometimes these things need reprogramming with a 4lb hammer. Its fortunate that this was not one of them.
