Yes is the simple answer Patty, they need bleeding if they are hot at the bottom and cold at the top. If the rads are warm all over then its a balancing act that is required

Another non expert here.
If all rads bled, would it be worth turning all rads off other than an individual one. Do that working through each rad, if the one left on gets hot, then that rules out most problems. I personally wouldn't try balancing radiators before doing this.

I suppose I need to work out how they come in order..things are not quite as they should be here....I think it goes up first then along...I'll wait for number 3 son and maybe we will have mother/son bonding over radiator time... How do u chose which one not to turn off..I have had a go at bleeding them... the problem ones are..two bedrooms and dining area...

Start with one that doesn't get hot, then move on to the next one that doesn't get hot. The other radiators should get cold whilst doing this. If I'm wrong hopefully an expert will be along shortly.

My last house had a bits and pieces system partly flow an return, but 4 of the rads were in a chain one after the other. Turn any of those off and all 4 would go off. As yours is the hell house perhaps yours is similar, might you have deliberately turned one off and a bunch of others have gone off with it?

Bloody experts trying to complicate things.... Try one radiator at a time first, then report back.

Just to update....Rayburn went out so no heat no-where...my fault as I just had to get out of house following rather awful night and didn't stop to check out essentials.....
