I've been following the news and am thinking of you. Stay safe. I see Paris is in all sorts of trouble with flooding. A lot of the water in Paris came from the river I'm on, as you could read in the link of my first posting parisinaction.com/seine/It's a terrible mess all over the country, I've been looking on the net for a cheap (or free) ticket to the moon, to see if life is better there No luck with a ticket sofar. Peter.

They put those wooden boards in so you can safely go and buy some beer. They do nice Belgian beers in France. I specially like Chimay.

That looks pretty grim Peter ........ take care !!! (The river Hull where I am at the moment is tidal and I am tied up to a very high dock wall, for flood water coming down the river to cause much of a problem, it would have to be biblical.) Couldn't get the picture the right way up, but you can still see the difference between 1 hour ago when I took it, and this mornings photo. Peter. Thanks Foxy, Love Peter xxx

sounds like it's been a hectic few days. It looks like the river here has just started to fall. I'm okay because I'm on a canal section, but Tony's on the river. He could probably do with a pair of waders. As you can imagine ive just got a letter from cart telling me I've overstayed, so I'm trying to ring them to see if they know the river is in flood. Here's a bad photo of me seen in a shop window with my DIY waders. They don't look very professional, but they did the job. Peter.

After another night without much (if any) sleep because of the noise of all the stuff that hit-and rolled underneath the boat, I had to get out a couple of time to clear junk that made too much noise while blocked against the side of the boat and the water passing through a small gap. There are still several very curious people interested in seeing the situation here, and they drive on the innondated road, where the level is about 20cms up the concrete wall opposite where my cars were parked until yesterday morning, driving much too fast in their big and high 4 x 4's creating a lot of wash, and them and the fast floating debris that hit the boarding planks, make these planks move of the concrete support blocs. Now I've just hammered a piece of angle iron in the road to stop that happening again, and signposted that with an empty yellow box on top of the angle iron, that you can see on one of the photos. I see that I've created another job for the clever foxy (or another clever photo specialist) to turn 2 of these photo's. Thanks in advance to whoever can do this. Peter. I just discovered that if you right-click on one of the sideways picures and then on show image, it shows the right way up, but that's not good enough

Be careful, and remember that one day you'll look back and laugh about this.
What a story to tell.

Be careful, and remember that one day you'll look back and laugh about this. What a story to tell. Rog I hope so Rog, but that day has to come quickly as my memory is starting to fail already. It took me several minutes this morning to recognise the fool that was staring at me in the mirror while he was having a quick shave Peter.

That looks really hairy Peter ( I mean the water level, not you if you stop shaving ) You be careful there ....... hopefully the levels will start to drop soon. I hope you have people there that are keeping an eye out for you all the best John Well John, I can tell you that it's not only looking hairy, but it is hairy (btw I won't stop shaving) They say that the levels are supposed to go down in a couple of days, but as it's still raining a lot, it may take a bit longer. I only have one neighbour (a family) here, moored about 10meters upstream from me. The guy and his wife are the most selfish people that I've ever met, and I've met many in the past. It's really surprising as they're both members of bargees families, and we normally always try to help each other if we can. To give you one example, they are connected to shore power, and I'm not, the installation is too expensive for me at the moment, and I don't think that I want to stay here much longer anyway. So I asked them if there was a possibility to plug in their electricity, but they didn't want that, as they said they had a bad experience with someone that had the mooring where I'm at before, and he left there without paying what he owed them. Then I offere to pay the unpaid bill, and supply them with a counter for me on their boat, to make sure that I couldn't use leccy without it being metered, and to pay them a bit more than 100% extra per Kw, and paying in advance, so I could never leave them with an unpaid bill. In the very end they accepted, but after a couple of months he came with their bill, showing me how much they had to pay, and they wanted me to go halfs on that, but as I don't use much leccy, only for my battery-charger, and all my lights are LED's, and they are big users, I thought and said that that wasn't fair, as I paid already more than twice the price per Kw, but he was worried that the counter didn't register everything that I was using, this because of the long cable (after the counter) from his boat to mine, you see surely not the brightest spark there, my leccy-counter on his boat indicated the same number of Kw as the one on my boat, so nothing wrong there. I've always helped them with everything, ordered- and even paid for a small hydraulic crane like I have on my boat, and had to beg for more than a month after it had been delivered to them to give me the money I'd advanced, and loads of other one way services from my side to them. I also helped their son with his english home work, as both his parents only speak french, and not even very good. In 2016 they had to go to a boatyard, so during the 6 weeks they were away, I had no access to the electricity, when they came back I asked to reconnect but they didn't want that anymore as it didn't give them enough profit, because I didn't use much. I then offered to pay the full 100% of their monthly connecting fee + the more than 100% per Kw, but even that wasn't enough for them, only if we would go halfs on their big users bill we could talk about it. So since then, I don't talk to them anymore, and have been running my genny everyday since then, only less in summer with my solar panels, but now they don't do anything. It's very nice to have neighbours, but not if they are like the ones I have here. I will just continue looking after myself, and minding my own business. Peter.
