Well I would expect you to say that Tony, and no doubt the 'one without Dog' liking it will be accompanied by others shortly. Given your history with CRT I would expect you to side with that opinion though. What 'history' would that be then, Martin ? Would it be something to do with making them look like the goons they are, and leaving them saddled with around £14,000 of legal costs when their County Court Declaration/Injunction claim against me for 'overstaying' fell apart and they ended up whingeing to the Court that my actions and conduct had rendered their case - quote (from their Court papers) - "worthless and academic". Yes, that history. Which shows that you are not coming at each new issue with impartiality.

Absolutely they are. But you said you weren't expressing opinion. These sort of comments are the type of thing I hate most about forums. Someone describes an incident or occurence (example I'm having a new engine) which seems to trigger others into questioning, challenging, disputing the need (you should fix the old engine etc etc). Hey ho, obviously it's just me. Rog No I said I hadn’t expressed an opinion up to that point, but that I now was. Seemed clear enough to me. You dislike tales of woe being questioned, which is your right. However there seems little point in coming on here just to get the sycophants all bleating about how awful it all is, and SO UNFAIR! My position as an engineer is to try to find solutions to problems. In other words to suggest how kris might have handled it better by going direct to the regional EO. And of course to probe a bit about whether he was in fact acting reasonably (remembering that his idea of reasonable was to keep his boat static on the towpath whilst it underwent a major renovation lasting many months). Of course some people, and I suspect kris might fall into this category, quite like being hard done by. They enjoy the victim mentality, just like all those women whose lives are RUINED because some bloke looked at their cleavage. So I suppose that reluctantly I should just allow him to enjoy his outrage and not suggest any solutions. It goes against my grain though. for anybody who wonders why I dislike Nick I suggest reading this post. This is the flavouur of posts himself and group of other idiots have aimed at me since first posting on cwdf about my situation some 4years ago.

Anyway, kris, were you on the river or canalised section? This is the nut cracker.

I doesn't make any difference whether Kris is on a canalised section or a flooding river section if moving requires him to drive his boat on a river in flood and he considers it unsafe. It obviously does or he wouldn't have started the thread. I don't think he was looking for sympathy or helpful suggestions, just reporting his situation for the interest of anyone reading who might like to discuss it. I'm with Rog, it's rather insulting to start demanding exactly where he is, which way he's pointing etc, this has no relevance as he's stated from the off that moving would require him putting himself, his boat (and who knows who else) in danger. Nuff said.
The point if I've understood it is that despite this, a permanent record of his being warned has been made and apparently cannot be unmade. This is disgraceful frankly.

Very succinct and eloquent.
I wish I could have expressed that view as simply.

This isn't a 'new' issue, it's the same old load of shit which C&RT, and their blinkered supporters, keep trotting out with monotonous regularity.

Yes that one. I don't believe I said otherwise. The point being of course it doesn't mean they are wrong on each and every occasion.

Nuff said. Well once again somebody has exaggerated a previously made point. I certainly wasn't 'demanding' anything of the sort, it was a suggestion to provide some clarity. Moving the boat would only be putting it in danger IF it had to go on a flooded river section. As he has chosen not to clarify that aspect we still don't know if he would be putting his boat in danger at all.

Just to shut Martin up, (if that's possible.) It was a short canalisec section between two river sections, so to move the boat in either direction would have meant going on a river in flood.

As I've pointed out i don't give a fig about what you think.
