I still see your view that all muslims are bad, a bad thing. Didn't say that, though, did I? Or show me where I said it. . It’s the general impresision I get from many of your posts Foxy, if you are saying that that isn’t the case, I stand corrected and apologise.

If we ever get the scissors and glue off him, we may all find out what HE says and thinks !
Mind you, I'm not guaranteeing we'll like it.

So far in this thread I have said little ..... my longest post so far, was to support a fellow Thunderboater whom I believe had been unfairly described. I have a deep distrust of extremism in any form, be it religious or political or in fact almost any apostelizing creed that paints "outsiders" as evil or corrupt. I don't care if they are vegans, born again christians or muslims. People who put themselves and their beliefs above others in a society and act upon it and attempt to enforce their ways on others are, in my opinion, a danger to society. If they voluntarily step outside that society and have committed or supported those who have committed acts of violence, they should not, under any circumstances, be allowed to return. Pretty much the same thoughts here. The key word in your post though is ‘voluntarily’. We don’t know whether she did go voluntarily.

I didn't see anyone holding a gun to her head when she was walking through the airport outbound Probably not, but peer pressure can be a very powerful thing, especially when you are young and extreme religious views are being bashed over your head. This is all speculation based on media coverage anyway, I doubt we’ll ever find out the truth.

I live in a different culture already, you daft old bat! This isn't England. Yes - very, very icy now - has been raining warm water on ice, the worst possible conditions. That's why I'm leaving half an hour earlier tomorrow for work, 25mph could be tops for my 16 mile drive to work. The people I work with seem to like me. But Finns are not a friendly lot as in Britain - no socialising after work, everybody just goes back to their houses, no cosy pubs to visit of an evening for a chat. I can understand that they tell you they don't socialise, I would be telling you the same You misunderstand - I didn't mean with just me, Finns keep themselves to themselves much more than outgoing Brits. They seem to get their kicks from doing kitchen renovations, garage renovations, and using power tools at home. Finns are really quite boring. Perhaps I'm mixing in the wrong circles... no - they are boring.

She wouldn't be the first naive 15 year old girl to be 'coerced' by people offering love/attention and excitement though.

I accept the Foreign Office response, that they will not risk anyone's life to go into the camps to extradite her.
That seems entirely fair.
I am glad that in my country we can freely discuss this issue.
I am slightly saddened that the choices of a disturbed young woman, made in her teenage years, could condemn her and an unborn child to death.
I see no good in that situation.
A radicalized 15 year old girl running away to Syria, sounds more like child abuse than terrorism.
A sad and sorry situation.

Know your audience socks! Learn some TB history before you start chucking bricks. I don't need to read a history book, the Fox is racist, something that needs to be discouraged on all fronts. I'm glad you said that.... you have fallen into my trap for you. But I can't prise it open until I get home. About five O'clock.

Dogless and Bassplayer may be correct and she is a confused child persuaded to go by peer pressure .......In that case she is an unfortunate victim of an evil group ....... conversely she may be a selfish calculating violent extremist who may in turn radicalise many others.
a balancing act, but the scales should be weighted in favour of the least possible risk ....... and that is that she and her child do not return.

I don't need to read a history book, the Fox is racist, something that needs to be discouraged on all fronts. He says things as he sees them and sometimes embelishes things for entertainment value. We're all here for entertainment. Having met him, I'm sure he wouldn't treat anyone he met any differently, whatever their skin colour, religion, whatever. So I'll confidently state that the Fox isn't a racist, you're sadly mistaken. I'll take your word for it, he's the one who chooses to frame his posts in such a way. I'm the one who objects.

Socks is probably right - but isn't everyone a 'racist'? Let's say you are a man and marry a good-looking woman. What about all those women you didn't want to marry, and all the ugly ones you declined - racist! You married your woman because of her genes, didn't you? I am 'racist' towards behaviours rather than people. And the old saying "What 'race' is Islam"?
