Yesterday Camarooooon visited Yorkshire the posh parts not Eastwood with its 4000+ eastern Europeans!! So last night it was on either Look North or Calendar about Eastwood and her campaign to make the government aware of the Nightmare of Eastwood! He looked sort of shocked when he heard all the troubles then went on immediately to to praise immigrants shame he didnt listen to the woman as she said only 16 out of the 4000+ actually worked.................................. On the plus side they have had to build a new school for them as the old one was full! But no new houses have been built, so they must be breeding like rats, or living 4 families to a house. Strange old world, I am sure these things will continue to slip out leading to the day we leave the EU

I was a bit taken aback yesterday when we were in Boston, Lincolnshire, at so many people walking past speaking Polish. Polish food shops all over the... er... shop. Just saying. Boston wasn't like that last time I visited in 1997. On our local TV they said that Boston had a immigrant population of over 30%, in fact Boston has just edged ahead of Wisbech. These are both towns I know well and to see them sinking beneath a rising tide of Eastern Europeans is saddening. Phil

I go to vegetable packhouses in Lincolnshire that I've been going to for 30 years. Back in the day, virtually everybody working there would be native born, and presumably their parents and grandparents had worked there before them... now in the same packhouses there won't be one single British person working there. I don't know what they do instead, on the dole presumably.

I don't know what they do instead, on the dole presumably. At the turn of last century over 90% of the population worked on the land, mechanisation caused this to shrink but quite what all the indigenous population do is a mystery to me. What I do know is that the A17 was heaving with crew buses coming down from Sheffield, that was in the 90s I'm guessing the Gangmasters set about finding cheap local workers rather than bussing them in. The supplying of labour is really cutthroat, the gangmaster negotiates a price for the job for which HE gets paid leaving him free to pay his gangs what he cares to, often not a lot, the system works a bit better now that they have to be licensed but still open to abuse. Perhaps there are many towns nowadays in Poland where 30% of the population is British?
I suspect not.

Perhaps there are many towns nowadays in Poland where 30% of the population is British? I suspect not. Perhaps there should be. Perhaps the Government should buy houses out in eastern Europe, and give them, and a £1000 per month allowance to any unemployed Brit wanting to move there. It would certainly work out cheaper than keeping them on benefits in the UK. How about this, in Bulgaria for £10,300? I could be tempted myself! www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-47069036.html?showcase=true

I had posted a few tame pikey jokes on Canalworld 4 months ago, to be told that I was way out of order.
Here's one: if you're out for a drive and you see a pikey riding a bike, why should you take care to avoid hitting him?
-it might be your bike!!

Perhaps there are many towns nowadays in Poland where 30% of the population is British? I suspect not. I lived in Piotrkow Trybunalski for a year, a town of 100,000. There were 2 English people, including me. Also a Russian bloke who seemed to own half the town and controlled healthcare, drugs, illegal cigarettes and beef exports. There was also 1 black man, nationality unknown. And 99,996 Poles.

A young pikey girl was sitting with her mother the night before her wedding. Her mum said, "I'd like to talk to you about your wedding night. Your husband will want to put his most prized possession where you pee." Confused, the daughter asked, "But why would he put his tarmac rake in the sink ? "
