ahhhh could have just said positive. Of course I could. However I use that a lot in various mediums and I've never had any one query it previously. Plus it's not rocket science to fathom it out, or maybe it is?

OK - why doesn't this bloke have any feedback on Ebay? 9 items sold, yet no-one has said a sausage. They could be fake transactions but also they could just be lazy buyers. I get pissed off with people who buy perfectly good stuff from me that is delivered promptly and is exactly or better than described and then they don't bother leaving +ve feed back, or indeed any feedback at all. I've noticed it's an increasing trend over the last year or so. Or more likely is his feedback is older than 12 months. Ed just checked and it is. Probably a by-product of ebay moving from being mainly used by private sellers to more commercial operations.

Chinese all over the place now, trying to shift their crap - I haven't looked at the human organs auctions yet. Making a mockery of what Ebay is supposed to be. Like those gits who turn up to car boot sales selling new (but crappy) stuff - it's not in the spirit. Might as well have Bulgarian prostitutes at the Salvation Army jumble sale.

I don't mind working and was going to take the boat I purchase out of the water and refit for a few months anyway, but the less work the better but that = more money. This is the worst boat I have looked at so far and only put some interest into it as I liked the look/style of the boat, but you have to see past the crap inside and out. its just I posted links to some project boats before and didn't get any response so presumed you weren't interested in "projects" which for someone with your budget I would have thought a mistake. You've got more chance of getting a really good boat by buying something cheap and doing it up. But as you say hopefully with not too much to do. I looked at all the links posted and had a look at the boats, I check a lot of various websites everday of the week fo new listings. My plan was allways to but a boat and put money into it as a lot of them for sale don't have what I am looking for anyway, esspecialy at my purchase budget, I could spend 30k on a boat but don't want to at this point, it goes without saying that a 30k boat is better than a 20k one, but from what I have seen of boats around 30k there not worth the money and the risk is still the same anyway, price makes no difference at all.

The problem with ebay is that in the final few minutes his mates might bid the boat up,this happened yesterday my mate was bidding on an x type and didnt get it, later he was offered a second chance offer on it [given that he was about five behind that gives you a clue] anyway he made a very rude offer and hasnt heard back! too right I have had that happen countless times and dont fall for it, a good thing to look for is 100% bidding history with one seller, its a dead give away and I look for it allways.

To be honest I have to agree I can't believe the price some narrowboats go for, they seem to hold their value. Personally I'm of the opinion it's better to get a boat you know needs work cheap, then do the work adding value to the boat. Rather than buying a boat at a high price that is always going to drop in value. But I wasn't sure you where Into doing some work, some people aren't.

I agree and feal the same way myself, I allways planned to do it all myself that's why I was looking for a cheaper boat, to put some money into it and have it more so the way I want it and not what the previous owners want. Have just been looking at the boat and I don't think I will go for it as the bidding list is blocked so I can't view the bidder, seems like the only reason to do that is to hide something. I could understand private bidding for underware or bondage gear....lol but not a narrowboat

Private listing dont show any names or bids, it will just say 20 bids but no details. Ebay auto cuts names but you can click the name and see what there bidding history is, so if it says 100% bidding with this seller chances are its themselves bidding on another account, but if you click private listing you cant see that, called shill bidding and I think this is what he is doing, I will ask him tommorow and see what his reaction is as I am going to view the boat as its just down the road from where I am.

Maybe its just on my phone but I've only seen bidder lists with usernames like b******l (789) no identifying features.
Previously it was public who was bidding but I really thought now that was no longer the case. I've been using a phone for ages no computer so maybe it just that.

What is shown when you click on this auctions bids is different. No idea why.
