I know of two boats for sale locally that haven't been advertised yet, one that needs work, that you'd get for just over 10,000, I reckon and a newer one that is ready to move on you'd get for about 21000. I have no connection. To either of the vendors other than I've met them on the cut. If you'd like me to get phone numbers let me know? Ps when they do get advertised, they will both be asking for a lot more. People do very often over price in hope of a nutter coming along. I did and someone bought for asking price! I think that's pretty rare in reality, it's never happened to me before anyway. Silly offers on £20k boats might be the way forward. You never know your luck.

I certainly did but they didn't try and I'd have taken £4-5k less without hesitation. Afterwards they GAVE me the almost new £600 12v fridge I'd installed as it was "in the way". I hit lucky there.

Yea that's why it's always worth putting a higher price on a boat your selling. This just came up on eBay. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253423772119 Doesn't look too bad, but it needs a gearbox, is probably a little over priced. But I bet it will sell, it would be very easy to add value to.

Doesn't look bad if you could get the price down a bit.
Sort of boat you could 'do up' over time, but live with short term don't you think.

Good get to know you cruise from there, just be aware that we are effectively shut for through traffic on the Nene until mid March

looks like a not bad little boat. If you could get 2-3 grand off it would be cheap.

Some stuff, notably narrow boats and Broads cruisers don't have the premium price tag in fenland that they attract in their natural habitat. Broom, Sancerre, Fairline and the like do have a hefty premium on them though!

I don't know if it's still the case but at that time they didn't put boats on apollo duck or anywhere else so pretty hopeless as a broker if you were selling, nice people or not. Great if you're looking and made the effort though. I've had a few Sunday lunches there, ok but nothing special. 👍

Whether they are any good as a broker has no bearing on him being a sound old boy

I messaged yesterday about the boats Kris, didn't you get the message? no, I wondered if I'd messaged you. not sure what happened there then? I was just asking if you had a chance to look around the boats to see what they were like and what would need doing on them. Also wanted to know if you were able to get any pictures of the boats inside and out. If your moored up by them and the owners don't mind. What were both the sizes, any detail would be great. Thanks for your help Kris.
