Bumping this, we are at the Fish and Duck, got there last week but I forgot to post!
Soggy trip for the first half of the week, improved towards the end.
Boat was perfect, had a nice stay in Ely - much improved now the restrictions have been put in place to prevent hogging of the riverfront.
Managed to shoot back this last Sunday for the aquafest, Having a proper size boat we managed to moor up outside the old girls former HQ Appleyard and Lincoln, 5 Annesdale, Ely - sadly a restaurant now.

you're making me envious ..... I'm sitting here on Sabina, wishing I was up there on Shapfell !!!!
Got out of hospital last Thursday, spent a few days at my sisters and came home here on Monday. I am going to need another week or two for the bruising to go but I will hopefully be back up in the fens in a couple of weeks

Back up on the Fens at the moment, but I am afraid I am going to have to take a trip back Home. Damn nuisance but there it is.
Nothing seems to go completely smoothly when it comes to medical matters, (suspect a trace of infection in one of the operation wounds)
Would be a lot more pissed off if it was better weather !!!
Paid for another 4 weeks moorings at Littleport (It's fairly cheap by the standards here but I pay less for a 66 foot barge on the Essex coast !!!)
To be honest, if I am not properly fit to go cruising by the end of this month I think I will knock it on the head for this year and put Shapfell on a trailer and take her back to Essex. The boatyard there will only charge me a fiver a week hard standing and it's right next to Sabina H

We're knocking around the Ely area and should be passing Littleport soon.

Just had a go at Wickam Fen but couldn't get more than 400m then reversed back out! We're currently tied up just at the end of that on, Reach Lode. I'll post here when likely to pass you!

I have to go back to Essex today for some hospital tests, So it looks like we won't meet up this time. Pity as I was looking forward to that. Hopefully in the future we might have a Thunderboat Banter Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in the Fens, I have found it quite a fascinating area. All the best John

Thanks John. Yes, the Fens are definitely interesting in yesterday's 30mph gusts!
