If your keen on faffing then how about mounting the sink on a gimbal with a funnel set up behind it. When you want to empty it just tip it backwards and hey presto, it drains into the funnel and to the bilge. Similar to what they used to have on train compartments That's a great idea did you see my new yot by the way - I got myself a little Colvic 20

Similar to what they used to have on train compartments more or less exactly what I have on the yogurt pot. ........ a small plastic washing up bowl set in a hole in the worktop, with a large square funnel below connected to a skin fitting.

trouble with using a bowl is they dont have a depression n the bottom where you put the drain, drain stands proud of surface, and it never drains completely.

It looked dated in the 80's, time has not been kind to avocado bathroom suites!

I think my spelling was in error as pointed out... of course I meant avocado..... must check typos before I post... I don't like avocados and in my previous existence was once served avocado mousse as starter...I cannot tell u how disgusting it was....so glad I don't have to try and eat revolting food any more out of politeness...when I think back to some of the dishes served...yucky yuck yuck...
