You now get them on the BCN, with the water being very clear in places and loads of little fishes. There’s progress! you can't help your self can you Nick? Give it a rest. FFS Kris, give it a rest yourself! You are becoming a little well balanced with regard to Nick............. you have a chip about him on both shoulders. You are disrupting threads which have nothing to do with your spats with Nick and frankly, you’re getting boring and tedious. Some of us on this forum want to discuss topics which don’t contain an unnecessary flounce every few posts.

absolutely agree. while Nick's posts can be a little pedantic, he often adds a lot of value this forum. I haven't noticed much of value from Kris, to be honest.

Before I answer your question as to what my post adds to this thread perhaps you should ask yourself the same with regard to YOUR post which provoked mine. BTW it’s “you’re” not your, if you’re setting yourself up as they forum police.

Aren't you just doing what your acussing me of I.e. derailing threads? Oh the irony. Ps I'm dsylexic so if you want to try and ridicule me, I'd suggest something other than spelling and grammer.

When in Rome and all that... 2. I have no intention of ridiculing you, that is your paranoia showing. 3. Re your dyslexia, I didn’t know however I would have thought you would have been more sympathetic to other’s shortcomings.

Really? They are very majestic, but usually just a torquise streak. You are very lucky to see one still. Your right, not often you see one on a perch over the river ..... Saw lots of them on the Little Ouse (and the Lark come to that) mostly just a small streak often you only know it's a kingfisher from the arrow straight flight. There was one that sat on it's perch and watched me go past from just a couple of feet away. I turned the boat round and gently cruised back to it after grabbing my camera. I was convinced I was finally going to get a decent photo of one. It sat still and gazed at me until the instant I brought the camera up to take the shot and ....... you guessed it ...... just a brightly coloured blur When you see them stationary, it amazes me how much red there is on them but as they flash past in flight it's just a gleaming blue gem. We are blessed on the marina when it comes to kingfishers, we quite often get one sit on the bow t-pin. We were out with the new hound a couple of weekends ago and he put a bittern up! This was on the Lark between Isleham lock and Mildenhall. We get so many rare birds in our neck of the woods, we are very lucky...... Could hear a couple of woodpeckers going for it this morning when out with the dog but couldn't see either of them.

I spent a summer exploring that area and one of my treasured memories is a quiet summers evening, moored to a mudweight. I had just had a meal of an excellent steak and was washing it down with some very nice beer, I was sitting with the hatch open enjoying the stars when for the first time ever I heard a bittern booming.
Life really does not get much better than that

Normally Kris is sympathetic to other's shortcomings, just most of the time rather than all the time. IMO PS. I will keep quiet on the subject now, I had my say last night.
