Enjoyed a few beers at The Slipway, Lathom beer festival tonight, early night for me but probably get wankered there tomorrow since its only 43 steps to my boat front door!! π»
Lock entrance booked for the Montgomery again on Sunday 29 april for a week, looking forward see if any progress has been made!
Going spend the few days before moored / sat drinking on Ellesmere junction in the sun and cursing / tutting / sucking thro my teeth at hireboaters attempts at taking the right angle bend there in traffic ππππ
Pics will follow of the best cock-ups / shows of canal rage πππ

I must admit they have been one of the highlights of my week.
Cant beleive how many were out. Oxfordshire narrow boats and black prince had their entire fleets out. Abc were juat about all out due to aldermarston being by the river and i think most of foxhangers and sally boats were all out too.
Been great entertainment and we beat them all into bath too.
At least they all wave and smile.

Vollockies have been helping boats through. I walked up the other night to go to sainsburys. Needed apple strudal and custurd. Very importand trip. The volunteers had gone home and i ended up helping about 8 boats through as the only paddle is quiet stiff. Great chat with all of them. I was a hirer. I Its still great sport watching them on their first day though. Saying that by the end of the week most of them were better than than the real boaters we saw. Especially the liveaboard that shut the bloody swingbridge in front of me and then never left the landing stage because I was approaching.

Success with the job, Peter.

I bought some metal scum bling combs (real ones) at a car boot sale years ago along with some metal stencils. As I hate scum bling I gave the combs to another boater. There were 4 of them all different tooth sizes.

I must have had the following conversation at least three times on the Llangollen last month... "Excuse me, is this your first lock?" "Yes, how did you know?" "Because you've opened the wrong paddles".
