You have to cut your cloth on 12v. That's a pretty good mantra for anyone who lives on a boat ...... in every way !!!

We use one of those compact Bluetooth sound boxes, to play stuff from iPhones etc. A Bose Soundlink Mini. Of course it isn’t really “HiFi” and anyway, something sent over Bluetooth never will be, but it’s adequate and pretty good for its size. One reason for moving onto the cut is for peace and quiet, surely! It is a modern ill that people these days can’t be without music blaring in their ears. They are afraid of silence. And yes, I know I am an old fogie!

Unless you host regular soiree's and need to flood the boat with sound to entertain, and dependent on internet connectivity I would suggest lappy/phone/tablet through a pair of quality headphones. If you have or can afford an late 20th century 'seperates' amp and speakers, a decent data allowance, the power to run same without the lights flickering and can stump up for a cheap DAC you have the entire Internets musical catalogue at your disposal.
