On CWDF the "Menopausal Mafia" would ban you in a heartbeat for even mentioning it. We'll look forward to your input. OYYYYYY I am well past the menopause as a 58 year old lady & I resent the idea of menopausal mafia. If you persist with this idea...I may have to kill you...Menopausal wimmin are gentle, sweet souls just like I am. Phew got that out of my system ! I think he might be suffering from a bit of 'male menopause' I reckon the best way to mention something verboten on the other channel without it soon disappearing, is to craftily hide it in a technical discussion thread, on matters which certain moderators are highly unlikely to ever read.

What's the point? No-one else will either, except the technical discussers, and if one of them happens to be a clype, then it's "Please Miss!".

So what's your alternative? I understood where we are to be the alternative, until CWDF changes. If and when it does, I don't think I for one, will ever give it the support that I did before. If the owner changes ...... I don't know........ probably not even then, I will always be looking for the ulterior motive I had always felt that it was a community, not someones "possession" That feeling (even if based on a false premise) once broken doesn't return. I suspect I will always be glancing sideways now

I suspect I will always be glancing sideways now Yes I always thought that 'ownership' of a discussion forum was an odd concept. Does Delta9 regard himself as the 'owner' of this forum?
As you say, it is a community, and if a forum is to be moderated, surely it is up to the community to choose how they are moderated, and indeed select the moderators. The selection of moderators on CWDF has always been a mystery, and no-one except the high heid yin, and perhaps not even he, knows what their approach will be. If someone is really keen to be a forum moderator, perhaps that should automatically disqualify them?

Got me thinking, just made a post on the other channel that maybe a way ahead is to form a small team of the more long term/level headed site members to help guide the direction of the site and how it's moderated. For instance Dan's decision to ban mention of this site maybe wasn't the best move long term, as it's giving him preferential treatment and changing the site rules on a whim. Also the moderators are a bit too close to the action and allowing things to get personal, so leaving them to decide the level of moderation may not be the best thing either. So maybe some extra input on these decisions and issues would be a great help. Will probably fall on deaf ears though....

I thought I'd apply to be a CWDF moderator as I'm intelligent, fair and fun.
But then I took a couple of me tablets and had a lie down and the feeling went away.

I had a look at CWDF and with interest read that somebody had noticed the unStable Bar has been empty for over 3 weeks and guessed correctly that all the regulars were over here. I think that says something, given that it had been open for 8 years surely that sends a message to Dan. Phil
