It is interesting yes - seems a lot of kit to get 30 watts ! I'd rather not use the flue for that job as extracting heat from the flue might cause problems with draught in the stove. It would depend on the design of the stove and the chimney system I suppose but that one looks like its in a land based dwelling which would probably have a considerably longer flue than a boat. I'd rather have it on top of the stove and preferably removable like a kettle. My ideal unit would be a small pan you put on the top of the fire and it runs a led lamp and a USB output for charging the fone. After use it would be removed (heat proof handle) and stored hanging by the fire. A modified flat iron would be nice ! I think it would be feasible to get the cooling sorted by putting a 50mm tube down through the floor to the baseplate and sticking a miniature fan in it. Duct the top end to the cold side of the teg. Obviously this would use some power but I would guess the extra cool air from under the floor would take care of that.
