For Sale for any acceptable cash offer , as is where is: (I'm prepared to move her to a more convenient place for the buyer(s), if they want me to do that. A 1960 small Tjalk of 9M50 x 2M90 with a good running reliable 40 HP Mercedes OM-636 engine. It's a pretty looking small boat that's fitted out fairly basicly, and that needs some fresh paint and varnish, and possibly work inside her to adapt her to the wishes of the new owner(s). As is the boat can sleep 4 people, 2 on single beds in the back cabin, that's too low to stand up in, but high enough to sit up straight on, this could be changed by the new owner in a double bed, if that's better for them. The benches on each side of the table in the saloon can be used as single beds too, and there again with a bit of work, they could be made transformable into a double bed, or the inside lay-out changed completely. Being only a small boat even a complete change of lay-out shouldn't be all that much work for someone with some DIY skills. The boat is very easy to handle, has an inside-and outside steering position, and a bimini to protect the outside steerer from the sunshine (or rain). I bought the boat in 2003 to provide accomodation for visiting family and friends, as I had no room to accomodate them in the back cabin of my commercial barge that I was living on. That way they were independent, and they could take the boat for a holiday-cruise on the canals if they had the time. Sadly over the years most of the family members that occasionally came to visit have found a definite place from where they will never move anymore, and the others are too old for the long drive to get to me. So the boat has become a surplus to me that I don't need-and can't afford anymore, and also I haven't got the time and energy anymore to do all the maintenance work on her. For someone that would like to test and taste the French waterways at reduced costs, this could be a good opportunity to start with this boat, that could quite possibly be sold at a profit when she's repainted and revarnished. She has the 2018 VNF Liberté vignette, that allows to navigate until december 31th. This isn't a brand new boat, but it still permits one to have fun on her while exploring the French inland waterways on a limited budget. I am not selling shares in her, but the future owner can possibly organise something like that (if he/she fancies) to reduce/share the costs, and the work. Here are a few photos of the boat, more photos and info if you give me your mail address by p.m. Please don't wait too long, yesterday would have been perfect, but tomorrow will do too. Peter.

I was going to ask Peter if he's got an eBay account? It might be worth getting one and putting a classified advert on. It costs money but not a lot especially considering how many people will see it. Also Peter it might be worth putting an ad on the London boaters Facebook group.

You're probably right with your thinking that there are a lot of people visiting there again and again, one of them is living on my boat (where I'm on my own ).
I do have an eBay account but under a different name, because eBay didn't want me anymore after I paid for a recent BMW R 1150 RS, which worked out to be a scam that made me lose a lot of money, it was so well done and with an eBay insurance to top it off, whan I complained to eBay about it saying that I thought it was their fault to make it so easy through their site for scammers to screw naïve people like me. After that they didn't want me to buy anything through them anymore, and so I had to use a different name and different address. This wouldn't make readers of an ad feel confident I would think.
The London boaters are mainly people boating (mooring) in London, I don't think that they would be in a hurry to leave their boat that has to move every 14 days, to do some cruising on the French canals, but of course one never knows.
I will have a look on their Facebook page to get a better idea.
Thanks for these tips Kris, much appreciated,
Peter.

She is a lovely boat Peter you need to put a price to her I think to get a good sale I outed some scammers with the help of my better half it was a proper ebay scam and someone in ebay must have been involved. I lost nothing and the scammers gained nothing as the bank froze the account! we had the internet fraud squad involved and the lot, ebay had slopey shoulders about the whole thing as usual they are nothing but a bunch of useless txxxxxxs to say the least and I hope one day they get took to the cleaners twats

I had sold her in principel to a nice French couple that had the money at the end of may 2016, but as I was preparing my van and trailer to deliver 2 Lister HR-2 Marine engines that I had sold to someone in the UK but who was only interested if I was prepared to deliver them, I had to do that first, and we would finish the sale straight after my return to France. But with my usual luck something very serious interfered, as a couple of locks above from my mooring the bank had collapsed and the canal emptied, there was 1M50 water in the streets of the town where the boat was tied up. The French waterways authorities (VNF) couldn't give a date for the reopening, even to go downstream, and because of that my serious clients weren't interested anymore, for which I couldn't blame them. Since then I've had only dreamers, people with no money that want to make deals with a monthly payment scheme, in which I'm not interested, others think that they can get a loan, but the banks don't give them a penny, and endless questions if I want to rent the boat, in which I'm not interested either, as I can't sell when there are people living on the boat, and there's also the question of what they'll do with-or to the boat. The French aren't allowed to make cash deals if there's more than € 3000 to be paid, so that's why I'll try my luck here, and for a cash deal with someone that understands that there's work to be done to make her very pretty again, I'm prepared to lose out a bit more, and hope that both parties will be happy. Saying that, for someone that's not too demanding the boat can be used as is.
About the eBay scam, I simply lost my money to the scammer, eBay didn't want to know about it, a friend of mine who's a San-Francisco attorney wrote them a letter, to which they replied that they were ready to go to court, but as they have a bunch of lawyers permanently working for them, and I would have to pay for one, I took my loss, instead of losing possibly even more in my fight against them. I'm happy for you that you didn't lose anything in your scam.
Peter.

If you already have Facebook just search for "Narrowboats for sale UK" in the Facebook search bar, then join the group (may take a few hours to be approved) then post the photos and blurb there.
