just showing off...isn't he marvellous! I haven't painted the new tiller arm yet but Aslan looks rather splendid on the brass so I may not, until I get fed up with polishing it. Nice but don't drop it in the cut like I did once!

That looks quite splendid indeed. Now you need a small brass padlock to go through the hole in the pin to keep Aslan from getting nicked.

What a handsome beast....
But as others have said - beware of thieves - some scumbag stole my boring pin after waiting and watching me walk off with the dog.

he's away, sadly the weather changed to wind and rain so Cair Paravel stays a while longer before cruising. What a beautiful tillerpin, on the boats and barges here, you don't see tillerpins, but on the old former sailing barges there used to be figureheads on the tiller.
On mine (the one on my avatar) I used to have a very beautiful lion too, but I decided to remove the beast and keep it out of sight, as everytime I moored somewhere in town, the nasties thought that it was just the thing they could easily steal, which caused me sleepless nights until I removed the lion.
Peter.

That is a lovely tiller pin; I'd actually be more worried about Dave managing to break his tail off than someone stealing it. We tend to take our tiller arm off as soon as the engine is turned off and we are moored up.
