I thought I was going to make a post in praise of CRT ...... but they then went and cocked it up.
I bought my visitors licence over the phone ....... A pleasant young lady took my call and asked if I had insurance and Boat safety cert. I told her Insurance ...Yes. BSC No and I would self certificate .... This year this did not throw the operator, (last year was a total pita who said I can't do this and I must have that and there are no exceptions etc) This one just went through the list of checks, took my money and issued the licence .....excellent, organised and polite. Full praise to CRT in fact I was intending to write a post to say this.
Shortly after, I received a text message from CRT asking me to take part in a survey ...... normally when asked this kind of thing I just say "No" but as the young lady had been so helpful I said yes. In the first text it clearly stated that if you wished to terminate the questionaire at any time to just text "STOP" .
I answered the first couple of questions that concerned my recent phone call but then decided after that, enough was enough. so I sent "stop" .... the next text was " I'm Sorry I did not recognise that answer, please reply with a number between 1 to 5 " deciding that it was possibly because I sent stop in lower case and the instruction was in upper case so I sent "STOP" ....... and received an identical I'm sorry etc text.
I know it's petty but it is just so damned typical....... they just seem to make cock ups in the most simple jobs ..... Sigh !!!

I have a theory that there is a special training school where people can go to learn how to cock up the simplest most mundane tasks. Having now moved I have been slowly doing the change of address thing. I thought it would be a good idea to inform my former employer as they provide me with a pension Find their website OK, even find a picture of myself from 40 years ago but could find no way of contacting them other than a standard contact us page but could not use it because it's for trade only and I couldn't fulfill the criteria. Gave up and phoned instead. This proved a challenge because the geezer on the other end asked "Sun Street, is that all one word?" Phil
