Went down to Coventry in 2012, the basin was full & had to moor outside, would be more inclined to stop for the night at Sutton's /Greyhound, but would depend on schedule and time of arrival - if early enough could run down to Coventry for lunch & get back to the Greyhound for the evening session. Keep an eagle eye out for the mega terrapins down that way when clearing the mattresses from your weedhatch - they can be very snappy!

Who on Earth would want a holiday boating round Birmingham? It just doesn't work pretending Birmingham is great. It's a dump and the canals are filled with old bikes, paint pots and dead cats.

We’ve encountered far more rubbish and stuff on the bottom on the Huddersfield Narrow coming out of Manchester, than on 90% of the BCN (the remaining 10% being the Walsall canal!)

Only place i got stuck with crap around the prop, Birmingham, never had to clear the prop in the three years of owning the boat apart that time, been down into the cov basin loads of times and never had any problems.
Brum is dull i found, not a lot of places to stop, that appear safe or nice and they all talk funny, yam yam yam yam..

Cheers -will look into it although I would prefer nit having to get more apps to clutter up my phone & tablet.

I couldn't get on with it so deleted it.
even if I use three forums that tappatalk uses.
the hardest part was it uses original forum names where as normally you see a screen name which for many posters is different.
so magnetman would come up as 2 sheds. confused me.
now he is someboater.
