Just wondering whether anyone else had seen / heard these yet.
I caught the tail end of a radio add the other day but wasn't 100% sure if it was a add or an editorial.
However, I've just been watching random crap on YouTube and had a CRT advert show up. Basically a guy walking to work with the subtitle stating, "commute without the hustle and bustle"
I'm now pretty sure what I heard on the radio was indeed an advert now.

Been advertised on commercial radio I listen to at night for a month or so now..probably started with the rebrand! Quite a pleasant advert that would make me want to go n chill by a canal if id never done it before.... But where's the money in that?

I think it must have started with the rebrand. Caught me by surprise when it came up on YouTube though and I nearly hit the skip button.
It was actually a decent advert, my thoughts are similar to the rebrand itself in that I hope it works out and gets more money in for the canals but I'm not entirely convinced it will.

Is this the youtube crap ? www.youtube.com/user/canalrivertrustThere a fool talking about the benefits for stressed people and that it will contribute to better mental health. "National Health Service" is what they say in the video. I'm afraid that he'll be too late to benefit from mental health, he seems a lost case. They'll need an awful lot of new paying folks to make up for the huge waste of money they invested in the rebranding, I can't see they'll ever get that investment back, but who cares ? As long as the clowns at the top have fun finding ways to disguise their money wasting to the general public. Peter.

When they (pleb non boaters) lounge on the grass by the towpath coins accidentally fall out of their pockets. Then CRT volunteers pick them up and take them for adding to the coffers. In theory.

No, I was watching something unrelated and got a paid for CRT advert come through. The type where you can skip after 5 seconds or watch the whole thing. ETA, so more revenue to add to the rebrand cost I guess...

I doubt that, do you think people will vote for taking money from the NHS and giving it to cart? The waterways should be funded in its own right, because of the water drainage function. Let alone the navigation. If you took the goverment grant as is, plus the boat revenue and the money from rents and the wayerways are sustainable in a reasonable state. But you have to get rid of the top heavy managment structure.

Is it some sort of psychological thing where they get the message across in the first few seconds then rely on your relief at being able to stop it being enough to imprint the advertising on your brain ? Seems odd but it must work.

I know back pumping is the solution but if you are specifically aiming for funding for land drainage then you will get an unusable canal system pretty quickly.

Many lame YouTube videos have titles which are deliberately exaggerated and confrontational to get people to click on them. Surely we’ve got better things to do with our lives?.... Meanwhile the canal system gets worse every year for boaters. I’m getting too embarrassed now to report issues to CRT. Whilst everyone is glued to a screen, that’s their life, so I guess it won’t matter if the canal system falls apart.
