thanks very much for the link, I'm not sure it was worth reading though. The whole site has crashed now anyway. I'd normally think taking the site down on a Sunday evening was idiotic - however they do need new funds. Seems they have gone for the crt model - oops.

It's just occurred to me that the photo could have been taken while the licence was legal. So... you shot yourself in the other foot as well. Ha!

As for the Vote Remoan poster I did not notice if it was still in place as photo is taken from the port side, and not starboard as in the photo that shows the poster.

Surely if cart are promoting the use of the towpaths to so many people using them in such varied ways they should provide facilities for them? It's okay having thousands of more visitors/users on the waterways, but where are all the extra bins? Or where are the toilets for the general public to use? If it was any other "attraction" it would have to provide adequate facilities before being allowed to open. They will have to make provisions for the thousends (if not more) visitors of the healthy canals, as they will come with bags full of drinks and food.
There have to be facillities where they can dump their empty cans, bottles, and the stuff that their food was packed in, if not there will be a risk that it all ends up in these now healthy canals.
As you say, there must be some toilets too, as there aren't enough pubs/cafés etc along the quite stretches of many of these canals.
Roads will be blocked by parked cars, if they don't provide huge parkings for all of these cars.
Now that it's getting known how good and healthy these canals are, I can see bus loads coming from other countries, it's going to be a big compatitor for Lourdes in no-time.
Canals "Peace and quiet" will soon only be a memory of the past
Peter.

Exactly Peter, it's alright spending lots of money on advertising to attract people to the waterways but surely cart should have invested some money in facilities for them to use? Oh yes I forgot they have invested lots of money in new signs.
