Sent this to Jon Horsfall at CRT on Friday.
Individuals have the right to be informed about the collection and use of their personal data. This is a key transparency requirement under the GDPR. You must provide individuals with information including: your purposes for processing their personal data, your retention periods for that personal data, and who it will be shared with. We call this ‘privacy information’. You must provide privacy information to individuals at the time you collect their personal data from them. If you obtain personal data from other sources, you must provide individuals with privacy information within a reasonable period of obtaining the data and no later than one month. There are a few circumstances when you do not need to provide people with privacy information, such as if an individual already has the information or if it would involve a disproportionate effort to provide it to them. The information you provide to people must be concise, transparent, intelligible, easily accessible, and it must use clear and plain language. It is often most effective to provide privacy information to people using a combination of different techniques including layering, dashboards, and just-in-time notices. User testing is a good way to get feedback on how effective the delivery of your privacy information is. You must regularly review, and where necessary, update your privacy information. You must bring any new uses of an individual’s personal data to their attention before you start the processing.
Had this reply from them today. Worth a laugh I guess.

Politer than my response would be. 'Feck of until you tell me what you your point is/what your issue is' would be my reply, even an idiot can copy and paste!. Was never very good at customer service...

Well they didn’t tell me whether my personal data was released by accident or not. They certainly aren’t keeping us all in the picture...unless of course they don’t actually know who was affected.
Sometimes we all cock up, but a bit of honesty and openness would be nice.

Foxy is closer geographically to the Russians than anyone else, he will be the first to get the men in black trench coats come knocking.

Im having a bit of an issue with an insurance company over 'honesty' as I cancelled policy..got letter from them acknowledging I'd canceled policy and then they took nearly £500 off my card... they cannot seem to see that this is a bit naughty.... they are refunding and apparently won't charge me a handling fee..... quite possible I had a few words to say..I did ask them to ensure they were recording the phone call

'Feck off until you tell me what you your point is/what your issue is' Yes, I didn't see what the point of that was. Was it even a question? This GDRP or whatever it is, is a load of lies and bollocks - you have to keep agreeing to everything to get signed in (yes, even to Thunderboat, everytime you clear your browsing history and caches) (which I do often) (you never know, it might help somewhere if someone hacks into your computer) - and you just know they've kept all your info anyway and are selling it to whomever they fancy who pays the highest price on the 'dark web' (advertising agencies). It's just to make people think their info is safe. Next time you phone somewhere and you hear 'this call is being recorded for training purposes' let the person who answers at the other end know that you are also recording this call for 'nefarious purposes'. And then laugh in an evil way.

Well they didn’t tell me whether my personal data was released by accident or not. I got an e-mail from CRT saying we were 'not hit' by this security breach. But who can tell if that's true or not. Would they really tell you if you were a victim? I think this recent spare of spam mail I've been getting saying "We've got your boat - would you like to buy your frying pan back off of us or we'll kill the teddy bear?" are hoaxes and nothing to do with the fact that they've got all my personal details.

Maybe CRT thought Jenlyn didn't think they knew about GDPR.

I somehow very much doubt that Neither do I but the reply was appropriate! Look, your a bit thick, (putting it lightly) you completely missed the point. I expect this from both you and foxy, so I'm not particularly interested in either of you replying, but if you do choose to reply with idiotic responses, then I will return the favour. 😊
