This is the latest share the space video I do wonder how cost effective this sort of thing is. It's a shame we don't get detailed accounts from cart so we could see exactly what they waste the money on.

LOL - a boat called 'Dreamcatcher' in the vid. Seriously - they have nothing better to do than come up with ads like this? That's our licence increase from this year well spent.

is that the cost of making the video? Because placing it on the Internet will cost money as wel, obviously not YouTube.

They surely thought that after the completely useless rebranding that cost fortunes (if not more ), it was time for more waste.
All means are good to find excuses for not having enough money to do the delayed maintenance and repair works that are desperately needed.
A couple of stupid videos and free ice cream will help them to spend after they've safely secured this years staff bonusses for all the good work they didn't do.

It is quite incredible that they can get away with squandering the money and resources they have. The lack of accountability is the biggest problem in my opinion.

I actually witnessed a cyclist end up in the cut behind our moored boat because he was more focused on his phone than an overhanging branch. I suppose the video could be worse...jogger trips over mooring line attached to mooring ring...

As soon as H & S hears about this, it's likely that their next step will be making it illegal for boats to use mooring lines attached to mooring rings.
It could become an obligation in the very near future to have someone permanently on board to look out for joggers, bicyclists and pedestrians, and remove all mooring line hazards before the forenamed are close enough to be hindered by them.
This unless the boater signposts these hazards with illuminated-and audible warning signs, to inform the other towpath users that you'll have to share with about these dangers.

It’s a shame we can’t just tax stupidity really.

I was reading the Scottish canals thread on cwdf earlier. It seems that the people in charge of putting as much money in their pockets as possible have worked out that all you really have to do is concentrate on tourist attractions (trip boats in Falkirk wheel and a cafe with expensive coffee). It does not seem to matter that the canal infrastructure is falling apart.
At the end of the day there probably is more value in it and seeing as money is all anyone wants its bound to happen.

They’ve already done a low budget video about this anyway. I quite like it as he uses the word ‘daft’...giggle...
The squashed duck at the start is a bit gross though.

Just to counter balance things, how much of this "advertising" is tax deductible?
