"Came through Nuneaton today, surprised at the lack of rubbish in the canal compared to previous trips through. However, in the first bridge hole we were met with a strong smell of cannabis several boat lengths away from the group of teenagers puffing away under the bridge, near the halfway point there was a group of four, probably in their early 20's, shooting up on the tow path as kids walked past on their way home from school and in the last bridge hole there was a rat running around. So the general impression of Nuneaton hasn't changed, we will still keep on boating and not stop". www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?/topic/98127-welcome-to-nuneaton/&page=1Aw poor diddums. He smelt some cannabis. He's better get off to the nearest hospital for a full MRI scan in case it has caused him permanent brain damage and he attempts to throw himself off of a tall building in the belief that he can fly, or starts kidnapping girls in order to sell them into the white slave trade or something.

We had rats damn near as big as cats running around the brewery, I used to worry about being mugged by the bastards on a night shift.

I know... a rat by a canal. Who'd a thunk it? We had rats damn near as big as cats running around the brewery, I used to worry about being mugged by the bastards on a night shift. I caught a rat in my snap trap last year that was so big that the kill bar had struck it halfway across its face, in front of its eyes, rather than on its neck. Much though I seek to eradicate vermin, the poor sod must have died a very slow and agonising death.

I'm sure many rats have nicer personalities than many humans. I have nothing against rats, they just mind their own business, good luck to the furry critters say I!

This is all a bit below the belt. It's just a series of observations. It's not like it's a full Graham Davies...

My girls have started asking about pets. I considered ponies as we had them as kids but we can't really accommodate them on the boat. dogs? No they shit too much. They would like cats but I hate cats. Hamsters and Guinea pigs etc are infra dig and nqocd in a big way so I have put forward the suggestion of a pet rat. Rats are really clever and their shits are tiny. One big advantage of having a rat is it should keep cats away. Its either that or a rattlesnake.
